Thanks for those who welcomed me including Pat Gardner .whos website I have
also read with interest.Im reading anything I can find these days !
At my tender age (mid 50s) I am about to buy a small holding.farmhouse ,
garden and about 8 acres of grazing.

Um....

Not to earn a living I hope?

More of a hobby/plaything?

I dont even know which end of a pig to plant............and its been ages
since we grew veggies.
But if the deal goes through we are both looking forward to a new way of
life.

Exchange spare time for work?
Ok, if that's your bag.

Fortunately I work from home and will not need an income from this new
activity

That's a relief!

but know doubt I will be asking a lot of questions from you guys .

This is a smart move. You will get lots of different viewpoints and
advice (if lucky an outright argument) to chose from.

Im in no
hussy

got many of them here too

to make mistakes and at the moment the land is being used by a lacal
farmer for some sheep.

<makes sign of the cross in air>

Long term some rare beed sheep,

Ugh!

a couple of pigs ,

Ugh!

6 chickens

This is good, foxes need a plentiful supply of food.

and a good
veggie and fruit area.....

This is good!

thats the target.

Er, how many acres was it?

8 ac? Ok you need some tractorpower, this is better than using an old
car (like an old Peugeot).

A lot to learn ...

sheesh, been doin it for 30 years and still learning...

and enough time I hope before I get too old :)

Pah! Whadderyermean old?
