Some unthoughtful person has sent me some high definition photos as e mail
attachments.

Each one is a 30 minute plus download on dial-up. Is there any way of escaping?
I use SMTP for mail and don't really want to change settings.

Demon ....

Hmmm....

Why not set the rejection in mail?

In tripnuke 5.01U its (from offline),

file
configure
email routing
envelope rejection
<put in the 'sent from'>

or even reject everything until they are gorn.

NB You would be very, very much better to set up collection via pop3.
With smtp you can only reject on the "envelope" data or download the
whole message which is pretty restrictive. On POP3 you can reject on the
header contents in full, before downloading the whole message. The
rejection possibilities are VASTLY improved (on reported size is
possible for example).
