Is there any way of *killing* on the attribution line?
Yes. I do it with a script inserted into my filter - it's not standard
though and does require a familiarity with regular expressions. The
problem
is that these (sub)threads are juddering between interesting and
undesirable
content within such a short compass that I'm pretty sure I still miss a
lot.
Oh. Well beyond my ability then:-(
If anyone wants to come up with a formula that works and does not
inconvenience, I'm quite happy to co-operate as long as the politburo
(looking at Jill) and their side kicks (Malcolm) do not respond. The minute
they do, the deal if off.
All other politburo scams, known and yet to be devised would get a similar
reaction.
Mostly there is a single reply to a PG post.
See above.
Aren't I a helpful chap?

Of course Turnpike can be used to break a thread but I have not
bothered.
Must try harder:-)
It would be interesting if Jill and Jim and Brian could try a sort of
*Lenten* fast by not responding for a week or so. A sort of sanity test?
Though I see why they feel the need to follow up. :-(
Umm... It is getting to be like arguing against claims for the
existence/non-existence of God.
