It was a flash of realisation when some emails came in. I do have a reverse
gear.

Then please go into reverse and retract your claim that you could close down this ng in 10 minutes. You might even gain some credibility for this acknowledgement of your total ignorance.

In actuality, Pat is closer to succeeding than you say.

When threads having no connection to Pat or his hobby horse are invaded by replies to killfiled posts others stop posting/reading.

Threads which might be of interest remain unread because sorting the gems from the dross is too time consuming.

Please can this private war be contained?
