yahoo is a doddle to set up as well

Not a doddle to sign up to though.

some people do seem to have trouble. Some ISPs seem to have a bad
relationship or something. Ignoring moderators who screw the settings so
that a moderator has to manually sign you in, (which is useful to keep out
spammers) and then forgets to set the system up so the application to join
is sent to them by email, and compounds this by never actually getting round
to go to the website to look and you do have great difficulty signing in.

For those groups that haven't that moderator hurdle an email to
groupname-subscribe@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx is normally enough, if your ISP and
yahoo talk to each other

I follow three Yahoo mailing lists, and things work pretty well. But I
was grandfathered in when they took over a mailing-list service, years
ago now. It's easy subbing to another list, but I can't comment on how
easy it is if you don't have a Yahoo account already.
