North East - about half way between Peterhead and Fraserburgh.
ahhhh -- we left there :~))
How is the Har these days ?
We are much wetter but we don't miss that!!!
soil type
Um, It's sort of brown stuff that goes green and pointy if you leave
it lying around for a while ;) I don't really know much about soil
to be honest, most of the local livestock is sheep, though with some
cattle. Barley is a common local crop, some maize and rape.
Are there any farmers markets in the Bluetoon or the Broch? if there are it
might be worth asking if anyone is looking for land for veggie growing -
polytunnels etc - from watching Gianna on uk.sci.weather its a lot less cold
than when we were there 20 years ago. And if you are close enough to the sea
you would get good reflected light
I am sure others will drop in with more ideas - I have folks in so not able
to stick around sorry
