The Commission has made its first presentation about the end of the UK
export ban to the EU Standing committee on food chain and Animal health
(SCoFCAH) .
France is waiting for an opinon from its AFSSA on live animal exports (the
French AFSSA has already said UK carcass beef exports are safe)
The German government will make up its mind in February.
The Comission intends to put the proposal to a vote by the committee at the
meeting on 7/8th March, and if a qualified majority back it, it will be
formally accepted by the Commission in the second half of April.
If they don't back it then it will go to the Council for a vote within three
months.
So if we are lucky it will be beef exports in May. If not it could be
July/August
