Hi, I'm Henry, the guy who designed the Pryer. Please feel free to
share your points with me as I am not a professional and I have
developed this to try to solve a rural issue that affects me and many
other farmers.
If you asked, I could have told you;-
We are working with ACPO to make the images and the system compliant
with the Police and Criminal Evidance act. They are date and time
stamped and they will be watermarked. All this I am told means that
they can be used in court.
The DPA (Data Protection Act) restricts public bodies (councils etc.,)
use of cctv. They must put up warning signs.(How mad has the world
gone?) but I can take a picture of you so long as I am either on my
land or on public land or with the landowners consent. This is how
the paparatzzi (can't spell today) get away with it.
You can drive up to it and download the images to a laptop via
Bluetooth.
It will store images and then overwrite the old ones when the memory
gets full OR it will send an SMS (text) alert AND/OR it will sent a
picture message (MMS).
I am not saying this is all thought through or that it cannot be
improved but it is a start. If you or anyone else in this exchange
has a better solution, please tell me and I can go back to doing my
day job and leave you to pick apart someone elses' product.
We have had dummy cameras up on grain stores in Hertfordshire where we
were getting equipment stolen and rubbish dumped. Since we have,
nothing else has happened.
I would welcome any constructive comments but like other farmers, I
don't have spare cash to fill your cash register I'm afraid.
