Are companies selling mineral supplements going through a hard time at the moment?
Was there not something quite recently about taking out some of the supplements like selenium in feeds? I cannot for the life of me remember where I saw it - or whether it was only some feeds. Costs and regulations come to mind as reasons I am in the middle of completely reorganising my office so can find NOTHING
Selenium is still part of the mineral mix I use for home feed production. I don't know of any enhanced TB susceptibility but low levels of Selenium in dams was suggested as a possible cause of eye defects in bought in calves.
If you had to kill Badgers with a shotgun I suppose SSG rounds (9 pellets) or buckshot would be effective and certainly more humane than using a rifle on a moving target at night.
I use ammonium sulphate on cereals but not grass.
