This area has at least 3 burial cairns and well marked bronze age field
boundarys - dates ?? early bronze age.
The Field boundarys are rather handy now its got so mucky :~)) - some of
the few bits of struggling heather we could get across !
Its fascinating how well occupied and worked all these areas were for SO
many years - just in this tiny corner of the world we have so many remains
from the various past civilisations. We spent an hour investigating the
first seat of the Scottish Kings a couple of days ago. Its just a lump of
rock in the village behind some trees -- until you actually get up there. We
were taken aback at the size of the place. You could certainly have
supported a lot of Picts and Celts living up there :~)
