Cow longevity

Our oldest cow will have to go tomorrow. She was one of our original Holsteins (as opposed to British Friesian), and is over 12 years old. She has a daughter in the herd coming up to her 10th birthday, and has done 102 tonnes.
We are trying a couple of Brown Swiss in the herd, lower yield but we hope higher fertility and lower vets bills.
