The USA banking system does not have staff accustomed to seeing foreign
money.
It depends on the amount, but US banknotes might be the simplest. Check
your local Post Office. You are taking a small risk of loss or theft,
but you can buy more cash than you need, and spread any fixed charge
over several consignments.
Paypal is, I find, quite good for small payments, but setting up an
account to receive the money in the US would be an awkwardness that may
be better avoided.
