This was gently pointing out that, while admitting it
meant the same thing, the text was in quotation marks
while not being an exact quote which is misleading.
It was exact enough for everyone else. Not misleading at all.
exact. It was not exact.
"PeterSaxton" wroteI didn't say that. What I said was you insulted yet when I insult you
Your response was unnecessarily insulting...
Oh, I see - it's only OK when *you* are the one
hurling the insults. But I thought you said earlier that
this newsgroup was for everyone to have their say?
back you object. Why are you insulting somebody and then complaining
when someone does the same to you?
"PeterSaxton" wroteI didn't make the mistake. You tried to deceive everybody.
You think it's ok to come into this thread, make a mistake...
But it was you who made the mistake, and still won't admit it!

In the post above you copied desperado saying "if my
end of year was August the 31st" and then tried to
pretend that "if my year end was" was a direct quote.
Do you think the two mean different things?
No.
If so, please explain your perceived difference...
It is amazing that this is required in an accountancy newsgroup. Most
accountants understand basic logic.
CORRECT - A: Six plus six equals twelve; B: A said: "Six plus six
equals twelve"
INCORRECT - A: Six plus six equals twelve; B: A said: "Two sixes equal
twelve"
CORRECT - A: Six plus six equals twelve; B: A said that two sixes
equal twelve.
The difference is that if somebody put text in quotes it means that it
is an exact copy of the quote. This wasn't. I have explained the
difference earlier but it resulted in you insulting me and then
objecting to you getting insults. You are an hypocrite as well as a
liar. Your sole aim on this newsgroup is to lie and insult.
I have asked desperado when his VAT quarter ends but he has refused to
do so. This shows that is he more than willing to confuse people but
not willing to clear up any confusion.
Ferrit burst in with his insults relating to the VAT period end but,
although happy to hurl abuse, he was unwilling to even give an opinion
on when the VAT quarter ends. This shows what he uses the newsgroup
for.
The majority of people use this newsgroup to either ask questions,
help others or discuss accountancy.
A few people use this newsgroup solely to hurl abuse or lie. I think
these people must have problems mixing with humans and so they sit
behind a computer and release their anger. I notice that none of them
are practising accountants and therefore do not have to mix with a
large number of clients. In fact Dumbo and Ferrit are too embarrassed
to even admit whether they even have a job let alone admit to what it
is. Tim doesn't usually hurl abuse but he's preoccupied with arguing
and lying.
I'm happy to help people in this newsgroup and ask for advice but if
somebody wants to hijack this newsgroup for their warped minds then
let them start their own version of the MI5 threads and not use a
genuine accountancy thread. What amazes me is that they don't seem to
know all that much about accounting either so I fail to see why they
have picked this newsgroup.
