Re: Advice on accounting software

You know, I'd love to live in the ideal world you do where you always
have the time to read the charter for every NG you subscribe to.
Really, I would.

I'd also love to know how a group can exist when , if someone asks for
suggestions, the charter would stop anyone giving a pertinent reply.

So say, for example, someone asks a question about Sage. There are a
number that I've already seen on this very NG . Does that violate the
charter? Would all replies to that therefore also violate the charter?
If so, your response to me seems rather overkill when you should
therefore spend your time ( which you have lots of, in your ideal
world, etc etc ) replying to every single respondent who answers such
queries.

Or perhaps you're a purist and only use your abacus, a pen and some
paper.

Still, I'm grateful you took some time off from your chronic self-abuse
to make me aware of your presence. That was special.

We did actually vote to remove that clause from the charter, but it seems
nothing happened. However, most of us, with the exception of DoobieDo have
no objection to the discussion of accountancy software where it relates to
accounting matters. However, if you want to know why your software keeps
crashing, or doesn't print properly, or the best way to back up your data,
you would probably get a better answer elsewhere. Suggesting that people
avoid a particular program because it has these problems is OK though.
