D-Link DSL 300T ADSL Modem

This is an ethernet ADSL Modem. Works ok, but I've just upgraded to
one that my ISP supports.

Any offers?

Is this a particularly good modem?
I have 2 ADSL modems and cannot give them away.

IIUC, most broadband signups come with a USB ADSL modem - - so there are
lots of those around as people put in firewall router ADSL boxes in
their place. However, ethernet ADSL boxes such as the 330T are a
different pot of hakes... Yours are presumably USB only?

I must admit to being tempted to make an offer for this one too... One
of the first things I do anywhere new is to throw out the ("free") USB
ADSL modem and put in an ethernet one..

I would say that the main reason to use an Ethernet modem is to cut out
the need for drivers.
With an Ethernet modem you just plug it in, set username & password and
off you go (assuming the modem's firmware is pre-configured for UK ADSL).

There is also no need to "dial" a connection from within Windows, as the
DSL modem maintains the connection on it's own.

A good new one costs ~£25.00, one should mention so that a new one will
support ADSL2+ speeds (>8Mbit), while the D-Link DSL-300T does not.

You forgot to mention that they often allow multiple machines to easily
use the same connection and as the inner LAN is usually on its own
private address space, it's more difficult for hackers to get through.
