I knowits OT, but i value peoples opions here.

I had thought about doing one of those IT courses, like from Cerco.

I did the online test, and got 80% and the only ones i got wrong where
due
to not knowing the technical terms, cos over the years i taught myself
so

know what im doing.

It seems expensive, but quite good from what they say, but it would mean
selling a load of stuff from my house to pay for it(cos im skint as
usual),
i dont know the exact cost at the moment but it looks around a £1000.

Has anyone get any good info to help, i know nothing beats experiance,
but
is it worth gaining the qualifications? Healthwise im not sure if i
could
manage a full time job at the end, and i only went to college and Uni
cos
i
was bored at home. At the moment i cant even lift a pc case but im stuck
in
a catch 22 situation.

nah, I would advise you against it. These qualifications are just money
making exercises. They were valued around 5 to 10 years ago.. not anymore
as
the industry has latched onto the fact that without experience they mean
naff all. Why ? because virtually anyone can study them and pass, yet
would
be clueless when it came to putting it into practise in the real world.


I was thinking that, i can do most things with pc's, repairs, builds,
networking etc and so so with the software side, and got by for 20 years,
and speaking to a guy who teaches kids IT at a school i knew a damn site
more than him, but he seems to have qualifications but didnt want to tell me
more...


what do you suffer from ? are you temporary ill or permanenty
incapacitated.



Arthritis in my back, as i broke it 10 years ago, so a mix of meds. Its
usually worse in cold damp months, but each day can be differant, yesterday
i was fine, now today i have taken 3 days woth of meds as its crippling me.
