And here is my original uk.adverts.computer WTD post!!!
-----------------------------------------------------
I want to upgrade from my current 256Meg (my PC supports up to 2 meg). I
would have got it from Ebay but I don't know enough to do this - eg.
registered/unregistered memory etc.
If anybody is selling memory, could you please give me a quote inc UK P&P
for:
DDR 266MHZ CL2.5
512 Meg x 2
The details on my current memory are:
PC2100U-25330 256MB DDR 266MHZ CL2.5
It is a long stick for a desktop unit, not laptop half-size.
Thanks - Keith

I advertised on here a few weeks ago, 1 gig RAM wanted (because I know
bugger all about the different types of ram = as my 'wanted' post stated, I
think!) but got no suitable offers at all.
I therefore bid on some on ebay. The PC wouldn't boot up with it in, so I
presumed it was the wrong speed. I don't know! So I'm offering it for sale
(with ALL the details from the ebay auction listing) - and hopefully it is
of use to someone else?
Thanks - Keith

£25 inc standard UK P&P. (UK only). Cheque or postal order - no paypal.
Just bought brand-new in error - I needed PC2100!
I think he knows that. The main point here is that its high density ram
and will only work on certain chipsets and intel isnt one of them.
Slight scam here as he omits to mention it.
As you point out the ram will work on pc2100 so it sounds to me like a
fake excuse to sell the HD ram to someone who expects it to be normal
ram.
Sorry if I`m wrong but in the abscence of that all important info I
cannot help but be sceptical.
Blimey, I hope a few of you lot never get to do jury service.
