Hi all,

Unfortunately it's time for my old beige Powermac 5500 "all in one" to
go. It's all in excellent condition and works well but will likely not
include a HD (reason below).

Specs are:

Apple 5500/225
256kb L2 cache
128mb ram
CSII ethernet card
USB pci card
Built in 15" screen
Original ADB keyboard and mouse.
All original manuals, stickers and software, eg: OS8, Actua Soccer,
Kai's Power Goo (oh how I loved that when i was younger) etc etc.
Everything packaged in original box. It's almost like new!

The only problem with the computer is the power switch on the back no
longer works and is permanently in the "on" position.

Also included will be a Scsi Yamaha CDRW 4416sx (boxed) and an Epson
Perfection 1200s scsi scanner. All leads included, including Scsi ones
plus an unused Adaptec pci SCSI card. All working well.

And a box of old Macformat discs (with magazines if they're still in the
loft).

Obviously you don't have to have all the extra gubbins but it would be
appreciated ;)

Anyway, the reason for no hard drive: It currently has 60gb HD in it,
full with digi-cam photos and I simply don't have the time to backup
everything that's on it. So i'm keeping it for now. The plan is to stick
it in an external firewire enclosure for the time being.

If I can get hold of another HD i'll happily include that. It'll take a
standard 3.5" IDE pata hard drive btw. Up to 120something GB in size.

I'm located in County Durham, near Sedgefield, and would much prefer
someone to come pick it up (the 5500 itself weighs nigh on 30kg..!).

I'll stick it on the local Freecycle(s) at some point but thought i'd
offer it here first - maybe someone could get some use out of some/all
of it?

Just for once, I wish somebody would post something like this that DOESN'T
live 150 miles away! :-(

If I had the transport, I would be up there like a shot to take all this off
your hands
