Subject: What Caused The Red Sea To Part. Dec. 21, 2006.
Most of you have probably seen the movie called "The Ten
Commandments". The following is an explanation of what really
might have happened.
.....................................................................
.....................................................................
"Creation - Following a Cloud to Canaan"
"Moses and Cloud"
When Moses led the Isr-alites out of slavery in Egypt he certainly
didn't do it alone. From the account recorded in the book of Ex-dus,
it seems he had a lot of help from above, and this help appeared in
a very unordinary way.
Now remember that when the history of that journey was recorded
thousands of years ago, the author didn't have modern words like
"UFO" or even "airplane" to describe what was witnessed. Think about
it, how would you describe a UFO if you couldn't use any modern
words? I'd imagine you'd compare it to something that people would
be familiar with. Even today people refer to "cigar shaped" or
"saucer shaped" or even simply "triangle shaped" UFOs.
With this in mind, let's look at the first account of the strange
object that appeared to lead the Isre-lites shortly after they left
Egypt:
By day the LORD went ahead of them in a pillar of cloud to guide
them on their way and by night in a pillar of fire to give them
light, so that they could travel by day or night. Neither the
pillar of cloud by day nor the pillar of fire by night left its
place in front of the people.
"Moses - Pillar"
The object is described as a "pillar" - certainly a common visual
picture for anyone who lived during that time. But what would we
think today if we saw this object that is compared to a pillar of
cloud and fire?
Looking at the event from today's perspective, I think that a
large object like this that could move on its own would likely be
some type of vehicle. Given the lack of roads, this vehicle probably
would have had to travel off the ground - either hovering or flying
- to be this mobile.
It's interesting how the object is described as a "cloud" during
the day - you'll see this visualization used later in the story
too. Do you think that maybe the craft actually used a smoke screen
or mist to hide itself so it would appear less foreign to the
people? Maybe the occupants were using this tactic to keep everyone
as calm as possible as this huge group moved out of Egypt.
As far as describing the object as a pillar of fire at night, how
else would you describe an object that was illuminated if you
weren't familiar with electric lights?
The following event gives further evidence that this pillar was
much more than just your average cloud:
Ex-dus 14: 19-20 (NIV)
Then the an-el of G-d, who had been traveling in front of Is-ael's
army, withdrew and went behind them. The pillar of cloud also moved
from in front and stood behind them, coming between the armies of
Egypt and Isr-el.
Throughout the night the cloud brought darkness to the one side
and light to the other side; so neither went near the other all night
long.
It seems this object was very mobile and it also seemed to be under
some kind of intelligent control. I also wonder what the "an-el of
Go-" that is mentioned looked like. Do you think it might have been
another smaller UFO? From what is recorded in the E-odus account we
don't really know for sure, but the description of its movements
would make this a reasonable possibility.
Parting the Red Sea
"Moses parting the Red Sea"
Now if you are open to the possiblity that a craft was assigned
to assist Moses as he led the Is-ealites out of Egypt, do you think
it might have had something to do with this next event?
Exo-us 14: 21-29 (NIV)
Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and all that night
the LORD drove the sea back with a strong east wind all night,
and turned the sea into dry land, so the waters were divided. And
the sons of Is-ael went through the midst of the sea on dry lnad,
and the waters were like a wall to them on their right hand and
their left.
The Egyptians pursued them, and all Pharaoh's horses and chariots
and horsemen followed them into the sea.
During the last watch of the night the LORD looked down from the
pillar of fire and cloud at the Egyptian army and threw it into
confusion.
He made the wheels of their chariots come off so that they had
difficulty driving. And the Egyptians said, "Let's get away from
the Is-aelites! The LO-D is fighting for them against Egypt."
Then the L-RD said to Moses, "Stretch out your hand over the sea
so that the waters may flow back over the Egyptians and their
chariots and horsemen."
Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and at daybreak the sea
went back to its place. The Egyptians were fleeing toward it, and
the LORD swept them into the sea.
The water flowed back and covered the chariots and horsemen--the
entire army of Pharaoh that had followed the Israelites into the
sea. Not one of them survived.
But the Is-aelites went through the sea on dry ground, with a
wall of water on their right and on their left.
I've had people ask me: "If the UFO was doing all the work, why
did Moses have to extend his arms? Why didn't it just fly over and
do its thing instead of making it look like Moses was doing it?"
I think this was by design. Remember that if this object was a UFO,
it was there to do the will of -od.
Since Moses was G-d's chosen representative to lead the people,
the UFO was probably focused on providing technical backup for
Moses, not to steal the show. In fact, this is exactly what Moses
is told in a later passage:
Exod-s 19: 9 (NIV)
The LOR- said to Moses, "I am going to come to you in a dense
cloud, so that the people will hear me speaking with you and will
always put their trust in you."
Then Moses told the -ORD what the people had said.
Manna and Quail
In a later account, the cloud is again involved in a mir-cle.
As in the case of the parting of the Red Sea, I think it's
entirely possible that the same craft helped out in the daily
distribution of food to the Isr-alites:
E-odus 16: 10-15 (NIV)
While Aaron was speaking to the whole Isr-elite community, they
looked toward the desert, and there was the glory of the LO-D
appearing in the cloud.
The LOR- said to Moses, "I have heard the grumbling of the
Is-aelites. Tell them, 'At twilight you will eat meat, and in the
morning you will be filled with bread. Then you will know that I
am the LO-D your -od.'
That evening quail came and covered the camp, and in the morning
there was a layer of dew around the camp. When the dew was gone,
thin flakes like frost on the ground appeared on the desert
floor. When the Israe-ites saw it, they said to each other, "What
is it?" For they did not know what it was. Moses said to them,
"It is the bread the LO-D has given you to eat.

Subject: How Big Is The New Jerusalem? Dec. 21, 2006.
As a kid they used to tell me about the New Jerusalem. It was pretty big.
.............................................................................
.............................................................................
"New Jerusalem"
by Jim Aho
I was sitting in ch-rch. It was a very charismatic but conservative
chur-h. By that I mean they loved to wor-hip enthusiastically, but held
VERY tight to the text of the Bi-le. As such, they generally held closely
to accepted chu-ch dogma and anything "weird" was often automatically
dismissed as "not Bib-ical." Even though I disagree, in a way I liked that
about them since it provided a very firm foundation.
This particular day something strange happened. One of the c-urch elders
stood and approached the pulpit. Being an extremely well respected and
long-standing member of the congregation, the pastor gladly stepped aside
since this man obviously had something important to say. The silver haired
elder began by going into a short history of UFOs. The congregation was
silent. Most of them were probably wondering "what in the world do UFOs
have to do with the Bible?" I know I had brought it up with some of them,
and they just kind of rolled their eyes like I was nuts.
But this was a ch-rch elder, not some new guy like me who had been
attending the church less than a year. I'm not sure they knew what to
think.
Before long, he opened his Bib-e and read the following passage from
the Book of Rev-lation:
Re-elation 21:2 (NIV)
I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of hea-en from
G-d, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband.
Of course, he was implying that the new Jerusalem was, for lack of
better terms, a giant spacecraft. Even more than that, he went on to
propose that it was already built and waiting to fulfill its mission. I
heard whispers from the congregation. Had he lost his mind? Watched too
much Star Trek? The problem with this is that he put the message out with
a surprising amount of authority; not as a theory, but as something he
was fully convinced of.
The Book of Revel-tion - craft. I know some people will take offense at
that, and I've had many discussions about whether it can be considered a
"spacecraft" or if it's simply some abstract magical function of Go- that
we can't explain and simply have to accept. You can decide for yourself
which explanation sounds more realistic and reasonable.
Either way, it sounds like a very beautiful place. An-els at the gates,
foundations of precious stones, streets of gold. I think anyone who accepts
the fact that it's real, no matter what it is, has to want to go inside
and check it out when it gets here. How do you buy a ticket? That's
explained after John gives the extended description of its appearance:
Re-elation 21:27 (NIV)
Nothing impure will ever enter it, nor will anyone who does what is
shameful or deceitful, but only those whose names are written in the
Lamb's book of life.
I know a lot of people who have told me that they would love to go
aboard a UFO. I wonder if they ever ask themselves if the beings aboard
the UFO would love to have them aboard? In the case of the new Jerusalem,
we are given a pretty short but direct indication of who is going to be
let onto the most dazzling and impressive extraterrestrial craft ever
known to mankind - those who are not impure, shameful or deceitful.
Hmm, doesn't this message kind of sound familiar? Seems to me that
everything J--us said, and everything Paul and the Ap-stles wrote in an
attempt to follow up on Jes--' words, was leading up to this moment. In
fact, later in the book --sus reiterates this in characteristically
colorful fashion:
Rev-lation Je--s Speaking
Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to
the tree of life and may go through the gates into the city.
As far as UFOs in the Bi-le, the new Jerusalem is definitely the grand
finale that we all came to the show to see in the first place.
Hope to see you there.

Following A Cloud to Canaan
(JW I believe you will find that the New Jerusalem is a 1,500 miles
cube. That would make it 1,500 miles long and 1,500 miles wide.)
