In his lifetime what was the Buddha called?

Does the term "Buddha" go back to the very earliest (Pali?) scriptures?

When was the word "Buddha" first spoken (phonetically similar to modern
usage)?

Any thing to do with like flower bud, to blossom etc or just coincidence?

Where can such questions be asked in cyberland nowadays?
