Alas I can only vaguely remember the TV programme so I'll give you what
few clues I can remember in the hopes that you may be able to recognize
the story and the individual in question.
Now I'm fairly sure the protagonist was not Lord Buddha.
1) It concerned a fairly young man who was undergoing "some kind of
spiritual awakening or transformation" but I don't think that he was
aware of the fact.
2) Or at least if he was aware he couldn't really understand or control
what was happening.
3) I'm fairly sure that there was something about time itself being
altered or changed somehow. That is from either his viewpoint and or from
many onlookers. I seem to recall something about his hands being able to
move at a seemingly unbelievable speed.
4) This last point I would say I recall with the most clarity (although
I'm still not 100% sure).
It was said that he was undergoing such considerable
emotional/mental/spiritual turmoil (as he couldn't control or understand
what was happening) that this actually manifested itself in a spot
erupting somewhere on his forehead. Not the "third eye or chakra" you
understand but something entirely different.
Can I ask if this reminds anybody of what must be a well known story?
Please reply to the group if you can offer any help

The Twilight Zone
No it was on one of the Documentary channels. Something like the Discovery
or History channel.
