So you are the Buddhist single mother I was referred to? I
politely decline your counsel and it was nice to meet you and I
am filtering you and killing this thread. I guess I need to
reserve my discussion of single parenting to the private Orthodox
community. Oh well. Thanks for trying to help me people.
Who was trying to help you?
We're trying to get rid of you, Ms. Osama.
Go forth and 'single parent' thyself.

That's fine, I will leave, this is not a good match. Bye.

Interesting...... is that accurate Fu?
So Olympiada is really Christian somebody in Germany?

No. "Motzarella.org" is the domain of a free news server; you've
misunderstood the header.

Atalanta/Olympiada is not the owner of that domain, she merely uses
their server.

Still the posts emanate from the individuals listed in germany, no?
That has nothing to do with the server; it's a different point.

No, the posts emanate from her home computer in California. She connects
to usenet through her news server in Germany, just as I connect through
*my* news server in the UK, but her posts originate from her own home.

One reason she moved to motzarella.org is because doing so keeps her own
ISP (which I believe is still SBC/prodigy) from being visible in the
headers. And the reason *that* was an attractive option to her is that she
was so nutty and abusive in her postings that people complained to her ISP
about violations of the group's charter and her ISP told her stop or lose
her account.

She's mentally ill, but she's not so crazy that she'll let her ISP account
be pulled. Whatever would she do with all those hours and hours of time
that would suddenly be available to her for things like child care,
apartment-cleaning, or job-hunting?

This is really interesting.
Every one of you posts from an anonymous
news server (you from athenanews.com).

Um, who, exactly, is "everyone of you?"

I've used AOL for 13 years, beginning with their GEOS software which was a
pre-Windows interface, accessing it through my comcast account for the last
nine or 10 years. When AOL dropped their usenet connection two or three
years ago, it was simpler to use a separate news server than to deal with
comcast, which I loathe, or the bastardized and misbegotten interface that
google-groups provides. I initially tried giganews and teranews, but found
drawbacks with each. Athenanews.com is cheap, it's reliable, and their
tech support is superb.

I hadn't particularly thought of athenanews as being "anonymous," since to
me the term applies to remailers such as the gone-and-lamented penet.fi
(which I seldom used and for which I had a five-digit member number, a
minor status symbol back in the day), the one run by mit.edu (which I think
was one of the earliest anon remailers), and dozens of others now in
business, but I can understand why it could be seen that way.

( No, it's not worth asking why *I* prefer AOL, although my first response
would be that I can always access their 1-800 numbers when I travel to
really boonie places. I live in a geeky household with two adults and
[currently] 5.5 computers running WinXP, Mac-something-or-other on a
laptop, and a couple of linux boxes. I'm not totally technically incompent;
I'm mostly just lazy and like the almost-all-in-one that AOL offers. And
inertia is a powerful force.)

Any evidence for the SBC/prodigy assertion?

Wanna try for less insulting language? I don't make "assertions" without
having cites, stats, or data to back up what I say; comes from years of
dealing with reporters, back in another life. You could look it up
yourself in any of her first 3000 or so usenet posts (I'll be happy to post
the 20+ nyms and addresses she's used in the last 11 months), but here's a
quick example:

http://tinyurl.com/3d9z4r . Or, if you prefer really long URLs:

http://groups.google.com/group/alt.masturbation.mental/msg/13654ee89d5c9355?dmode=source&utoken=XHMRyTcAAACT6AXlCQdH-hULoEYMe03LsfzJ0J6HSYRruarkBKt9dJEuxdlExhX1k1p3PK5uGcvB6tTrSlCOhWlQCrPH9HDX

As you'll notice, she was still using SBC/prodigy as of February 14, 2007,
and she acknowledged that her account had already been suspended once for
violations of a newsgroup's charter and that she didn't want it to be
cancelled permanently.

And then check this one http://tinyurl.com/2vvv47 or

http://groups.google.com/group/alt.hackers.malicious/msg/dfd0ae4d11ee3455?dmode=source&utoken=T6ahbTUAAABn3lh9hPABn0sD67BrqtL4Otu5V9vRBmg6ihW8fNPfY4g1NaFhOUulmJURh7KP62gupsVcfcrH0KIiCEPzodgW

Note that it was posted to alt.hackers.malicious on February 20 and that
she brags about having a new news server (motzarella.org) which masks her
IP(sic). Earlier this year she attempted to make friends with the folks
on alt.usenet.kooks and a few of the kook/troll groups in an attempt to get
them to defend her by attacking other groups and inviduals, but she was so
clearly mentally ill that they Formosa'd her and refused to play.

For the most part, I genuinely pity the woman. She's mentally ill and thus
far has been unwilling or unable to do the work necessary to improve or get
well. She's raising a young daughter pretty much alone, a situation which
alarmed several of us who were subjected to her posts for months on SSBB.
Many of us [from SSBB] think she's either misdiagnosed or under-diagnosed,
and we're quite certain that her therapist and job counselor do not see the
full picture of her behaviors.

On the other hand, whether she's obsessive or compulsive about posting on
usenet and web-based groups, she most definitely is sufficiently in control
of herself to protect her ISP account from being cancelled. In the last 11
months she's infested eight or 10 groups, often flooding them with 30-100
posts each day, and driving the regulars into hibernation or frenzies of
counter-posting. Her craziness runs in very predictable cycles lasting
7-10 days, to the extent that virtual betting pools have been set up based
on when she'll move from one phase to the next.

Oh, and her interest in buddhism? It's both shallow and fleeting. Her
personal history depends on what points she wants to score with someone.
Two of my favorite posts were generated when she was arguing with a guy
from alt.atheism. First she attempted to impress him with the breadth and
depth of her knowledge and experience in various belief systems. Then,
when he flipped that around to point out that she'd been "indoctrinated"
into many religions, she insisted she had not and then denounced and denied
following every belief system she'd just bragged about belonging to. This
pair of posts is one of the clearer examples of the mutability of her
personal history and beliefs and her facileness in shifting tactics by
redefining words in mid-argument, asking off-topic, distracting questions,
and making bizarre accusations about the other poster's age, education, or
intentions whenever she starts to run out of answers. The end result is
that the guy argued her to a dead standstill.

Atlanta has tried to delete many of her more "notorious" messages from the
google archives, and I think these two are no longer available in google.
(Rather, I can find them by searching the text, but for some reason the
Message IDs don't pull up properly.) These links should take you to them:
