We don't need armed peace forces to make peace. Think of it; "Armed peace"! *lol*

Have you ever called the police?
No. Never had the need.

You better watch some news.

I do watch the news. What does it have to do with anything? Unless, of course that the immidiate reaction makes you think, that armed forces are necsessary to achieve some state of peace. But the point is that we practise not to react spontaneously upon what meet our senses. We recieve info through our senses. Then we reflect on the object. Then we consider what action could be taken, if any nescessary. If action is nescessary, we act with awareness and compassion.

"Armed peace"? It's like "forced peace"... It wont work. It only creates more suffering. You can't impose peace on anybody. People will withdraw. But you can make them a gift og friendliness, endless patience and practise, to inspire them to change behavior.

I understand that it can be scary to look at the news, but it is a problem in your mind, and that suffering within you, you should end and not pass on to your surroundings.

World Peace can be achieved!

Do you let your children do as they please?

Hmmm... usage of complex questions are not uncommonly used as arguments....
However I'll answer this anyway. If you say that the buddhist practise is "force", because there are rules, then you have not understood the buddhist practise.
If you say that upbringing is always based on force, because there are rules then you have not understood the difference between "force" and "education".

I don't have children, but a child who does not understand why something is not constructive to do, will keep doing it. If you try force, the child will go against you. If you take your time with the child and explain, and have the child understand, then the child wont be doing those "bad" things.

Adults are a lot like children and behaves like children in many ways, but same principle allies. If the adult understands why a certain behaviour is not constructive, the adult will give up the behaviour. If you try to force something upon an adult, you will get suffering - no matter what it is you force and what your intentions are.

Have you met any criminals?
