There often seems to be more diet books than
people on the planet. Every celebrity has a diet
book. As a joke I came up with my own diet: "The
Lost in the Woods Diet"! Almost no one got the
joke, and it "backfired"! I received an email from
a publisher's agent who said they liked the title
and the idea. I figured a joker was trying to play a
joke on me, the original joker. But the agent was
authentic. I told the agent that I posted my idea/
title as a spoof. The agent replied that the best
books sometimes start that way, and that the
publisher would like to get serious about the idea,
and would help me write the book by providing a
nutrititionist to consult on it. The agent had done
her homework and discovered that I had written
five technical books and had scientific credentials.

Okay, so I'm going to go ahead with the venture.
I can push my vegetarian agenda from a new
angle. (The agent wants to keep the bugs part
in the book because bugs add "panache"!)
