I thought I was going to be a Catholic but came across some scholarly
articles on why the non-biblical evidence of the holy miracles may have
been forged.

I tried to get a priest in on this case but he basically attacked the
fact that I posted the article.

So I'm back to square one.

I would much rather believe in a God than a pointles materialistic
existence but based on what I've read it seems Buddhism is my best bet.
The only trouble I have with it is that it doesn't seem to have a
center. I don't feel the love.

I wish I had my ignorance and still believed the Bible was not merely a
compilation of myths and hearsay accounts. I wish I believed there was
a loving God out there.

But since He has not answered my questions I am back to square 1 for a
while....

Buddhism, Zen. I know very little about either..... it sounds that pain
is what drives a lot of people here. It is good to live in the moment
and not fight the pain. But it seems too insipid to me....
passionless.... boring.... meaningless.

What I miss most about believing in a God is the incentive to be moral.
I like to believe that a God will reward me for my actions.

Buddhism..... does it do this? Where is the incentive to do anything
but simply wait until you die?

Thanks for any answers,

newbie

Have some compassion on yourself
and read some books before having opinions.
