Buddhism in Japan

I'm talking a course about buddhism in Japan, but find it very
complicated and could need some additional litterature just to get a
grasp of it.
Basically I'm looking for an easy to read "newbie" book that quickly
goes through the things we have in class, but in a less complicated
way. Then I can read the books I already have for my classes ("A
history of Japanese religion" by Kazuo Kasahara, and "Religion in
contemporary Japan" by Ian reader) for more in-depth knowledge.
I don't know too much about buddhism yet, but I believe I need books
specifically for buddhism in Japan rather than buddhism in general.
