Re: Responding to attacks on the Faith on trb

J: We could go on a trip in a washing machine space ship!

Yea, and you made me sick then too! If my aim was off at that time and
the vomit missed you then you can be sure that there will now be a
more direct approach.

Ok Columbo; How can anyone so smart be so stupid?!

J: I call it "bandwagon abuse." Various forms of psychological abuse
against people who don't climb on one bandwagon or another.

Marvelous! So now the entire Baha'i Faith is nothing but a bandwagon.
Rather than simply the most viable organized attempt in the world to
distributed to mankind the Revelation of Baha'u'llah as an
organization, admittedly with some flaws, you reduce the entire Baha'i
Faith to nothing but a bandwagon. There may be bandwagoners in it.
Some of them may even have prominent positions, but that does not
justify rebelling against the entire organization.

You have stated elsewhere that,
"When I say that I'm following the guidance from the divine
institutions, I mean for example Baha'u'llah, Shoghi Effendi, Abdu'l-
Baha, the House of Justice, my local and national spiritual
assemblies, and the institutions associated with the counselors. That
does not include commentary by a member of the secretariat, unless it
conveys a message from the House of Justice. That is not what I mean
by "guidance."

Your rationalizations are unsupportable, nonsensical, foolish and self-
destructive. You make distinctions where there is no reason to make
any such distinction except to support your desire to rebel.

A few facts:

1.
The letter we are speaking of can be reconstructed in its entirety
from these two locations:
http://www.talkaboutreligion.com/group/talk.religion.bahai/messages/104825.html
http://www.talkaboutreligion.com/group/talk.religion.bahai/messages/109186.html
(and just a tiny bit of brains)

2. The letter is:
From Department of the Secretariat
To Jim Habegger

3. The Department of the Secretariat is not "a member of the
secretariat."

4. The Department of the Secretariat is in fact a subcommittee of the
Universal House of Justice assisted by staff.
(source: In person consultation with Douglas Martin)

5. The letter states:
Mr. Glaysher and Mr. Hazini have both, over a period of time, taken a
number of actions inimical to the Faith. They both seem bent on their
own personal campaigns to undermine the integrity of the Teachings and
institutions of the Cause in the minds of persons unwise enough to
take them seriously.

In cases of inveterate hostility to the Cause, the Universal House of
Justice has advised:

The effect of continued exposure to such insincerity about matters
vital to humanity's well-being is spiritually corrosive. When we
encounter minds that are closed and hearts that are darkened by
evident malice, Baha'u'llah urges that we leave such persons to God
and turn our attention to the opportunities which multiply daily for
the promotion of the truths which He teaches. In words written at the
direction of the Guardian, regarding a situation similar to, though
much less serious than, the present one,

"...the friends should be advised to just leave these people alone,
for their influence can be nothing but negative and destructive...."

Therefor we see that the Department of the Secretariat (a subcommittee
of the House) is quoting the Universal House of Justice in its advice
to YOU, James Habegger, to; "just leave these people alone,"

As you latter made clear in your letter of Fri, 24 Oct 2003 08:56:40
-0700 (PDT); the information you had sought in writing to the
Secretariat in the first place was; "Karen Bacquet, Frederick
Glaysher, Nima Hazini, and Dermod Ryder are friends of mine. Have
there been any messages that I should know about, from the Universal
House of Justice, that refer to any of them explicitely?"

Answer; Yes! The letter that was written to you!

Now. Are you going to heed that advice which you were honored to
receive or are you going to continue to rebel against it? Are you
going to continue to rebel unless and until there is an actual
commandment from the Supreme Institution to you personally? If so,
what degree of error will it be necessary for you to make in order to
force that direct commandment?

Suggestion: How would you like for me to speed things up just a little
by arranging for a former member of the Universal House of Justice, to
come to see you in person to tell you to shut up? I just might be able
to do that. Yes really! Will that satisfy you?!!!!!

Suggestion: (from the kid in the washing machine space ship)
Go home. Shut up in this hell hole. Do something more positive in the
real world. Your mother is watching you.
