Did you look into yourself to see how many of these characteristics you possess?
I hear and see too many people speak good or evil of e.g. George Bush, or Mao, Carter, Dalai Lama, Mohammad, Jesus, and so forth. The fact is it is irrelevant what an irrelevant thinks of a central figure, it is always the followers of that central figure who count. Now be it a cult or a religion the time would judge. Meanwhile, your ilk would strive to prove their point, though, Jews still count Christianity as a cult. Denial is a bottomless abyss.
Looking into sky or down a well expecting a messiah appear to guide humanity towards extinction is far more acceptable, logical and pleasing than reading about a community leader establishing a worldwide embracing organization.
You know too little to judge a personality like the Guardian. On the other hand, it wont matter how much you know, would it?

Indeed, Larry.
I think like most enigmatic cult leaders throughout history, Shoghi
Effendi had illusions of grandeur and narcissism. As outlined in a
1980 publication by the APA (American Psychiatric Association), a
pervasive pattern of grandiosity, need for admiration, and lack of
empathy, is indicated by five or more of the following:
(1) a grandiose sense of importance of self (e.g. exaggerates
achievements and talents, expects to be recognized as superior without
commensurate achievements)
(2) is preoccupied with fantasies of unlimited success, power,
brilliance, beauty, or ideal love.
(3) believes that he or she is "special" and unique and can only be
understood by, or should associate with, other special or high-status
people (or institutions)
(4) requires excessive admiration
(5) has a sense of entitlement, i.e., unreasonable expectations of
especially favorable treatment or automatic compliance with his or her
expectations
(6) is interpersonally exploitative, i.e., takes advantage of other to
achieve his or her own ends
(7) lacks empathy: is unwilling to recognize or identify with the
feelings and needs of other people and groups
(8) is often envious of others or believes that others are envious of
him or her
(9) shows arrogant, haughty behavior or attitudes
-from "Diagnostic Criteria for 301.81 Narcissistic Disorder,"
Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, 4th Edition.
An examination of Shoghi's life reveals he regularly exhibited all of
these characteristics, particularly #6 and #7, which often manifested
itself in putting his own office and ego above that of his family, and
the adherents of his Faith. The fact that he excommunicated his family
when the Baha'i ecclesiology prescribes that the Guardianship must
descend from this line indicates that his neurosis interfered with
logic.
