In context, the Prophet Elijah was fighting against a corrupt and
entrenched power elite of his time, quartered of all places upon Mt
Carmel! The high priesthood of Baal/Hubal were by no means innocent
"prophets" (bizarre that you use this term for these guys) or pure
lambs of righteousness. They were a corrupt power elite of an
entrenched Caanite patriarchal power structure that survived by
robbing and preying upon the meek and sucking the blood of the poor
and disadvantaged, much like the uhj today. Elijah did the only thing
he could under the circumstances and prevailed in victory against
massive, insurmountable odds - and alone! His slaughter of those
corrupters of the earth, the priests of Baal/Hubal, was precisely the
justice those demons deserved!

There is human ignorance, true, but then there are those who wilfully
and knowingly perpetuate inverted half-truths, misdirections and utter
lies for the sake of maintaining themselves in power in perpetu and
sucking the blood of the meek and innocent. Those demons deserve
*exactly* the sort of Divine Justice meted out by Elijah to the high
priesthood of Baal/Hubal, and nothing less than it or short of it.
