The disturbing lack of candor and outright lies of the BWF leaders is
highlighted by the visit made by Murray Smith, Deputy Secretary
General, who is secretly taped discussing why they BWF won't admit an
Israeli to membership. The guy sits there and tells him that
Bahá'u'lláh Himself forbid Israeli citizens from joining their
community. Never mind that the Israeli State did not exist in the time
of Bahá'u'lláh. In fact, this rule comes from their bogus UHJ, which
attributes it to a policy that supposedly existed from the time of
Bahá'u'lláh.

Actually, you right up to a point, and completely wrong on the rest.
The *policy* of not allowing Bahais to reside in Israel (then
Palestine) was initiated by Shoghi Effendi himself, not the uhj. In
fact he initiated this policy a few short decades before the actual
founding of the Israeli state. It was also around the same time
whereby he initiated a policy of not allowing Iranian Bahais to travel
or emigrate to Western Europe and North America, i.e. circa late 1930s
(just before the outbreak of WWII), which is the same time individuals
such as Ehsan Yarshater (editor in chief of Encyclopedia Iranica)
where disfellowshiped by Shoghi personally for doing that very thing
(in his case, following on a scholarship he had been awarded from the
Iranian government to study abroad). Many families and individuals who
had emigrated to Palestine during the time of Abbas Effendi and the
early years of Shoghi's own ministry were told in no uncertain terms
to get packing. Those who did not or were economically unable to
comply were summarily disfellowship, some even declared outright
covenant breakers, such as the father of present ao-lackey Soheil
Bushrui. Countless other such examples abide. As such, while I
understand your sentiments, and unless you do not know the historical
details, it is somewhat disengenuous to attribute this policy upon the
present uhj cult when, in fact, the policy was instituted by Shoghi
Effendi not them.

I cannot find anything coming from Shoghi Effendi on this.

Look harder.
