If I judged the Baha'i Faith by what I've seen in Internet discussions,

Jim....Do you remember my accounts of the old Aboriginal Baha'i Elder
who
was (before and after his passing) broadly hailed as a 'Saint'?- Henry
Banjo Clarke.

I certainly do. I've thought of him many times. I started one time to
work on some Web pages about him. I wanted to provide links to
articles about him and his work. The research turned out to be a lot
more work than I thought, and I didn't have anyone to work with, to
help keep me going. I'm still sitting on it.

?
Do you recall anything of his nephew and nemesis who was (when I first
posted) accused
of a number of pack rapes of minors?

Well...the nephew (former head of an NGO with anual budget $5.5
million) has recently been
convicted (Civil Suit) for one of those rapes (further charges
pending).

Right now...on Beliefnet Baha'i Debate board...there is one Baha'i
(God knows why) trying to pretend
there was no conviction and that it is all ""anecdotal" and "alleged"
and that the good links to reputable National newspaper accounts are
"false", "bad", "lead nowhere" and to top it all off resorts to
mockery of the pack rapes- ""Last time I, sniff sniff, heard about
those rats raping crippled children, sniff, in the Arctic forest where
I live, well, I'll get myself together..."

The "rat" reference relates to my having described the rapist as a
"rat" rather than name him....for this I am taken to task, by another
Baha'i. for having had "the gall" to call a rapist a rat.

Now Jim.....I have struggled for years to maintain my faith in Baha'i as
a transformative force
for good...I could put up a good fight against false and baseless
allegations- "Enemy of the Faith", "Unconstrained rage against the
UHJ" and all the other sundry mad bull***....even Susans "Cyberstalker"
crap paled before her one and only expression of interest in Banjo's
story- her dismay at the cost of his funeral....all that and endless
more online Baha'i stupidity I could tolerate and laugh at.

But publicly mocking the pack rape of a minor.......defending the
convicted rapist....no....that's it..........you will *never* get me within
spitting distance of the Baha'i community *ever* again.

And lest it be misunderstood....I expect there to be a couple of sick
sociopaths in every group who will stoop to the depths of mocking
rape....what makes me puke is that the other Baha'is
hardly say a word...like it's no big deal....mocking the rape of a minor-
fair point scoring tactic in Baha'i debate.

Yes. What's horrifying is not the abuse itself. What's horrifying is
the popularity of ignoring, denying and excusing it, in the name of
God.

It's fucked up and evil/sick Jim.....and exposing it on the Net is as
close as I wanna get.

I understand now, believe me.

Looking back now over my six or seven
years of experience in Baha'i-related Internet discussions, it looks to
me mostly like a failure of Baha'u'llah's message to produce any good
fruits.

I've worked in prisons...with street kids...with psych disabled...with
drug addicts.....Christ...I've
even worked with Welfare Professionals (the most frightening of
all)....but I've never come across a group of
people as fucked up willful ignorant-evil as the common sanctimonious
pseudo spiritual arsewhipe Taliban Baha'i.

They scare the *** out of me.

It horrifies me, too.

Jim
