This is a point, actually - what happens when Bayanis want to visit the
shrine of the Bab?
Only been there once but from my memory both Shrines are open to all during
certain hours and no questions asked. I wasn't on pilgrimage though I had
permission to be on a three day visit. I can't see how any staff would have
been able to identify me as 'not a Bayani' or 'not a covenant breaker' but I
was free to enter and leave as I pleased. Its quite possible given the
general situation that there was discreet surveilance but I think the
question would more likely have been 'Is he a suicide bomber?' rather than
'Is he a Bayani?' Then again, maybe they just put trust in God.
It seems from another thread that the belief that Bab is not buried there is
not a criteria for being a Bayani so I suppose it is possible that some
Bayanis and certainly some covenant breakers might want to visit. It might
only become an issue if it was important to them to visit at a specific time
when it is normally closed.
Its worth remembering that the Shrine of the Bab is also the resting place
of Abdul-Baha. Its a Baha'i Shrine quite apart from the Baha'i view that the
Bab is an integral part of the Baha'i religion.
If both religions grow to the point where the sheer logistics of permitting
access to the number of people who wish to attend becomes difficult there
mighty be some tricky negotiations to be done.
