Hi, Brendan.
"Polychrysos" (brendanccook@xxxxxxxxx) writes:
ALBERT: I did not appreciate the satyric descriptions of two Universal
House of Justice members, or your references to the five year Plan. Nor
did I find it proper of you to use that paragraph as a testimony that
the moderator should have posted your 'link'.
BRENDAN: I thought you told me this story made no reference to the
Baha'i Faith! How can a story that is refused for not relating to
Baha'i matters offend you with its description of two members of the
House and the Five Year Plan? Or are you admitting that the rejection
notice was based upon a falsehood?
Valid questions.
ALBERT: I myself find upon occasion that my own submissions are being
turned down and I except it because, he/she is the mod and is reading
from a disinterested point of view and most of the time I as a
submitter do not see my own emotional entanglement.
BRENDAN: Are you saying that it is only because I am "emotionally
entangled" that I think my story is about the Baha'i Faith? If I were
less emotional would the references to Farzam Arbab, Paul Lample and
the quotations from Peter Khan and Abdu'l-Baha disappear? You have
just admitted they are present. What I would like to know, Albert, and
I ask this of all the SRB moderators is why they really refused to post
my story.
I think this is a very valid point. Moderators, in my opinion, have a duty
to be upfront and specific about why they reject a post. This may assist
everyone to gain some appreciation of how the moderators see the list,
newsgroup, etc. Then, the membership can decide as to the validity of such
a moderators' view of the list and request, decide (depending on ability)
to loosen or tighten it.
By the way, how long is your piece, and have you posted it here to this
unmoderated newsgroup, or only a link to it?
You said it made no reference to the Faith, and that
obviously isn't true. So what is it, then? What is the real reason
that you don't want people on SRB to see it? And why aren't you
willing to present it openly instead of giving me a sham rejection
notice?

Thanks for providing this opportunity, Brendan. Of course, my opinion is
that moderation is contrary to Baha'i freedom of thought and expression,
and that Baha'i also has a high standard of inclusive, respectful and
spiritual speech.
Very Best Wishes,
Michael
