I agree. The planet is one. The species is one. Humanity is a single
entity in splendid diversity. What is interesting is the extent to
which peoples in various parts of the globe have demonstrated their
common humanity by thinking similar thoughts, having similar feelings,
responding in similar ways to their condition.
The issue of the hour is whether Baha'u'llah is correct in his
assertion that this is the Springtide of humanity and all of the
terrible past of the species only the winter of childhood and the
future can be novel, mature, bebeficial, or whether humans are stuck in
a rut, confronting a challenge (to use a Toynbeean concept of history)
beyond their will or ability.
I cannot adequately convey to you the tremendous extent of the waves of
sorrow that surge within me, when I behold year after year the
frittering away of the lifetimes of so many of the most spiritual of
humans, right here throughout Baha'i cyberspace and within the world
wide Baha'i community of which this Internet is just a reflection. The
candles of light, supposed to shine with the guidance of a loftier
realm are snuffed out by the same determination of some alpha male
wannabees and the same inflexible determination to be the possessors of
one imposed doctrine that has for centuries flooded this globe with the
precious blood of the victims of religious strife (if such a
contradiction in terms can be permitted).
I'll continue, perhaps, and yet what more is there to be said? The
Baha'i viewpoint is ideally one towards what is beneficial, uplifting
and harmonious. O how I yearn for the tidings that the Baha'is have at
last elected a real Universal House of Justice! O how I yearn to read
news, hear the tidings and observe the evidences that actually there is
a Universal House of Justice! O how I await with eager expection the
formation of Baha'u'llah's Universal House of Justice! And, then let us
see whether humanity is capable of growing up, or doomed to die an
infant.
