Re: Shoghi Effendi seems to think the Will and Testament is Baha'u'llah's

Why was there no need for a body of nine Hands of the Cause to assent
to the appointment of Shoghi Effendi as first Guardian of the Baha'i
Faith?
It seems to me that the correct answer to that question is that there
is only one Center of the Baha'i Covenant, 'Abdu'l-Baha', and His
Authority is adequate. And even still there have been voices
expressing doubts that His Will and Testament which contains that
appointment of Shoghi Effendi, is authentic.
The reason why there was no need for a body of nine Hands of the Cause
to assent to the appointment of Shoghi Effendi's successor is similar.
The Universal House of Justice in the Baha'i Administration of the New
World Order is unique. It is the only body on Earth which will have a
Guardian of the Baha'i Faith as its "sacred head". It is the only one.
In the Master's Will and Testament the terms "sacred head" of the
Universal House of Justice, and "Guardian of the Cause of God" are
synonymous. To publicly appoint someone to be head of the Universal
House of Justice, albeit in embryonic form, leaves no doubt whatsoever
concerning the intent of that appointment.
Beyond any doubt, there will be a group of nine Hands of the Baha'i
Faith giving their assent to appointments of successors of Guardians of
the Baha'i Faith, when such a body becomes necessary, as decided by a
future Guardian.
Orthodox Baha'is have not attempted to abrogate that provision of the
sacred and immutable Will and Testament of 'Abdu'l-Baha'. Just be
patient. A Guardian of the Baha'i Faith will put it into effect in due
time.
