I can't see the phrase "single white female" without thinking of the
movie of the same name. I don't know if you've ever heard of it, but
it involves a woman who takes a roommate who starts copying her
appearance, lifestyle, friends, etc. I don't remember it very well but
I thought it was interesting.

I used to think about that back in my former city when I would look
out my house's window at the house of the family across the street. It
was the exact same style of house, except theirs was blue and ours was
a brick-red color. And theirs was neater, partly because the wife was
neater than I was, but also because the husband (a member of the
National Guard) was neater than she was. He used to sweep the gutter
next to the curb on the street.

Anyway, I would think how I, having visited their house occasionally,
could start furnishing my house like theirs, eventually painting it
the same color. I think there was something more interesting about my
idea, though, because it sounds really boring. It sounds like simply
the preface for "Single White Female." I think, though, my version was
more like "creepy friend across the street" than "crazy lady who wants
to take over my life."

Anyway. So, how's tricks? I said "trucks" at first, but I'm guessing
you don't have a truck.
