In 12 months..2008...china will host the Olympics. China has chosen a
theme of "Journey of Harmony". The theme was chosen for the ideal
of--promoting a peaceful society concerned with preservation of human
dignity. Considering that china went into tibet, murdered its people and
took over the country. Lucky, the Dalai Lama and other Tibetan escaped
the slaughter. Now living in exile. Of course the United States
government never stepped in to stop the takeover or supported the
Tibetan claims for the return of their land. I never understood why we
didn't attack china when they invaded tibet. I always thought of tibet
as a magical place. In school we were taught communism was --bad. Today,
in tibet, owning a picture of the Dalai Lama is a sign of disloyalty to
the communist party. Owning a Tibetan flag is a far worse offense---
that could result in prison. Any country that supports the olympics
games in China also approves of the repression of tibet, the slaughter
of the buddhists monks, the exile of the dalai lama. It is time for
china to pull out of tibet and return the country to the Tibetan people.
