Margaret Thatcher - February 5, 1976
Obama solved THAT one ... just BORROW trillions from other
socialists ! :-)
And Thatcher forgot to mention that the trouble with /her/ ideas was
that the only reason she "ran out of other people's money" was because
she stole their golden gooses outright, and then sold them off.
So have we.
Socialism isn't the problem.
Not much of an impediment to goose-killing either ...
When everyone understands that its their goose too, even looking at it
"the wrong way" is a dangerous thing to do. No cops, or gov, required.
See cops and gov surrounding the goose? You don't have socialism, you
have communism. (A lot of people make that mistake, assuming one is the
other, due to constant association-repetition in the media.)
Amen.
No deity involved. ;\
Its allowing capitalists and fascists to run it.
Depends on the KIND of 'capitalist'.
Oh yes, absolutely. Maybe "capitalisti" would have been a better term?
Don't get carried away ... this "Us -vs- Them" is a fabrication with
goals you probably won't like .......
Humans form tribes, and those tribes are reflections of current
conditions. You'll always have "us'n'them". Its built into the insanity
humans carry about with them like a disease or disability.
The one thing we do have is the capacity to chose, or switch, tribes.
Nothing wrong with capital, unless "the people" end up serving /it/,
instead of it serving /them/.
People always serve money.
Attending to a utility and serving a god are not the same thing.
The whole idea of the American Dream is the former. What you actually
have in today's America is the latter.
The IMPORTANT bit is whether pretty much *anybody* can work their way
up to being the ones served.
In a rigid class system the answer is "No" ... the American system is
more flexible however.
One word. Dubya.
You need de-regulated crony-corporatism for that kind of SNAFU though.
Mussolini was a great fan of corporatism. Good job that lot lost WW2,
eh? ;\
El-Duce was a nutter. Ignore him.
El Duce was a manifestation of the times, just like Hitler, Churchill,
and all the rest. Where there is opportunity, there'll always be somebody
to fill the role required to make it so.
Ignore them and you ignore history, which means ya don't learn nuthin'.
We know a song about that, don't we?
Yesteryears weren't so bad - they still had some sense of "building
the future"/"building America".
The latest crop however - hyenas and vultures.
And, alas, their wiser peers did little to restrain them.
That'll be the accumulated Bernaizian conditioning.
Well ... they were AFRAID. Afraid that restraining the worst of the
worst would also damage THEM.
A nasty choice they had to make.
I wonder who created that choice, and why ?
Intriguing questions all.
They weren't afraid though. They were seduced by their own latent greed.
Bernaiz understood these things, as did Lehman Bros at the time.
And so began what will end in Idiocracy. Except nobody will know,
understand, nor care by then.
A lot changed after WW2, more than many have yet to realise.
Yes, it WAS a line in the sand ... the demarcator between 'yesterday'
and 'today'.
There have been others, but only part of a "work in progress" thing.
A lot of that change was planned in advance too, just needing the right
global events to allow those plans to be activated.
Um ... kinda unreliable to depend on 'global events'. Too much
butterfly effect ....
Y'mean like waiting for rain? Yeah, y'can't depend on that now, can ya?
And now back to Bob with the sports results. (Forget! Forget!)
"Hey! Bob! They're not fergetn'! More sport, and fast!"
