Your point of posting this is what?

Because otherwise Afghanistan drops off the radar. Americans
should know what's going on there and not just have some vague
idea that girls are going to school and women are voting.

Why don't you just admit that your point was that you oppose the
American and coalition efforts in Afghanistan so you'll latch upon
anything bad that happens and attempt to ride that to your sun shine?

That's not fair. It's hard to know what's going on in
Afghanistan. If anything is. In the first six months there, a
lot of money was promised. I'd bet little has gotten into the
hands of average Afghanis. The coalition cannot control the
country, so the Taliban is resurgent in the south. We know
opium is back in production. I suspect outside Kabul no one
really cares what happens inside Kabul. The news I get is just
collected by the Revolutionary Association of the Women of
Afghanistan. So they know what's going on inside their
country.
