Iraqi Teachers Being Killed - Thanks, Prez Bush

Al Sharqiyah TV:

Isam al-Rawi, head of the Iraqi Teachers League, said that 217
university teachers have been liquidated since the occupation of
Iraq and until now. Al-Rawi held the occupation forces and the
political and religious authorities responsible for the
liquidation and killing of some teachers and qualified persons
for sectarian reasons.

An Iraqi Defence Ministry official has escaped an assassination
attempt in Al-Za'faraniyah area today. Iraqi police sources said
that unidentified armed men fired at Brig-Gen Khalil al-Ibadi
when he was going to his work. He and his driver sustained
serious injuries.

Two bombs exploded in the Al-Bab al-Sharqi area in Baghdad.
Thirteen civilians were injured.

Unknown gunmen burned a truck carrying an Iranian plate when it
was returning to Iran on the Al-Miqdadiyah-Khanaqin highway.
Local citizens told Al Sharqiyah correspondent that the gunmen
kidnapped the driver of another truck carrying Iranian gas to
Iraq.

Unknown gunmen today killed Muthanna Jasim al-Hamadani, member
of the Ninawa Governorate Council, and one of his escorts in the
Al-Baladiyat neighbourhood in Mosul.

The Teachers Syndicate and Education Ministry building in the
Al-Anbar Governorate was the target of a US air bombardment.
Al-Sharqiyah correspondent said that US fighter planes bombed
the Teachers Syndicate building in Al-Anbar and caused big
damage to it.
