Yea, how DARE any school be asked to PROVE they're
teaching the kids to read and write ... just horrible ...
How else are the kids gonna comprehend the Manifesto if they
can't read? Why, they would probably grow up to be dittoheads.
I'm hoping that once they CAN read they'll become
little Bill Buckleys.
Oh, yes; turdwater..another fascist who believe Buckley was right when
he said the Constitution guarantees the right to racial discrimination,
religious discrimination, ethnic discrimination, etc.
NCLB may have some technical problems - like most
federal intiatives do - but the IDEA behind the law
can't be faulted. The public schools had become
slack - VERY slack - and local authorities weren't
doing anything about it. If the kids did poorly
they just inflated the grades so it SEEMED they
were doing well. The most "liberal" wanted to do
away with grading alltogether - so nobody could
even TELL how lousy an education the kids were
receiving. The only choice here was a federal-
level mandate and standard.
Another unfunded mandate from the Republican Reichstag.
Consider it a PENALTY for screwing-up in the first place.
