Bush's rewrite of history and his lies

Last week, George Bush said, "When I made the decision to remove Saddam
Hussein from power, Congress approved it with strong bipartisan support.
While it's perfectly legitimate to criticize my decision or the conduct of
the war, it is deeply irresponsible to rewrite the history of how that war
began."
Specifically, Bush is claiming Congress is discrediting its own complicity
regarding the decision to go to war against the Hussein regime. No one is
denying Congress voted to give Bush war powers to remove Saddam Hussein from
power. The question is by what means did Bush cajole Congress into granting
war powers.
No one is trying to rewrite anything. It is still exactly the same as it
always was. Bush simply promoted unfounded intelligence and manufactured
lies regarding Hussein as a world threat and Hussein's involvement in
9-eleven.
For example...
LIE: On September 12, 2002, George W. Bush, the President of the United
States of America told the United Nations General Assembly...
"Right now, Iraq is expanding and improving facilities that were used for
the production of biological weapons."
TRUTH: Charles Duelfer, George Bush's handpicked weapons inspector,
testified before Congress that there was no direct evidence suggesting Iraq
had plans for biological warfare programs beyond 1995.
LIE: On October 5, 2002, George W. Bush, the President of the United States
told the nation in a radio address...
"We have sources that tell us that Saddam Hussein recently authorized Iraqi
field commanders to use chemical weapons -- the very weapons the dictator
tells us he does not have."
TRUTH: Charles Duelfer testified before Congress that Baghdad destroyed its
hidden chemical weapons stockpile in 1991, and there are no indications that
production resumed afterward.
LIE: On October 7, 2002, George W. Bush, the President of the United States
in a Cincinnati, Ohio speech said...
"The evidence indicates that Iraq is reconstituting its nuclear weapons
program. Saddam Hussein has held numerous meetings with Iraqi nuclear
scientists, a group he calls his "nuclear mujahideen" - his nuclear holy
warriors. Satellite photographs reveal that Iraq is rebuilding facilities at
sites that have been part of its nuclear program in the past. Iraq has
attempted to purchase high-strength aluminum tubes and other equipment
needed for gas centrifuges, which are used to enrich uranium for nuclear
weapons."
TRUTH: Charles Duelfer testified before Congress that Saddam Hussein ended
Iraq's nuclear weapons program in 1991 following the Gulf War, and no
evidence was found to suggest that an attempt had been made to restart it.
LIE: On October 7, 2002, George W. Bush, the President of the United States
said..."We have learned that Iraq has trained al Queda members in bomb
making, and poisons, and deadly gasses. Additionally on November 7, 2002,
Bush said, "He [Hussein] is a threat because he is dealing with al Queda."
TRUTH: The 9-Eleven commission reported al Queda leader Osama Ben Laden may
have requested assistance from Iraq, but Iraq never responded. Beyond that,
Bush claims there was a meeting between 9-eleven ringleader, Mohamed Atta
and Iraq. Not true, cell phone records show Atta was in the United States as
oppose to being in Prague Czechoslovakia where Bush claims the meeting took
place.
So NO. there has been no re-writing of history. The facts remain as they
always were. Simply Bush convinced Congress Iraq had chemical and nuclear
armament, whereas Iraq had none since 1991. Besides that, the Scooter Libby
indictment indicates Bush's and Cheney's claim about a "yellow cake" uranium
deal between Hussein and Niger never existed. It was all fabrication and
deceitfulness designed to hoodwink Americans into fearing Hussein. Iraq was
not a threat to the U.S. or to world peace. There was no al Queda connection
and certainly, no one in Iraq attacked the U.S. on 9-eleven.
One might ask, why Bush would want to engage Hussein in a war in the first
place? It was a simple matter of oil profits. Federal Reserve chairman Paul
Volcker's probe indicates about 2,200 companies, including corporations in
France, Germany and Russia, paid a total of $1.8 billion in kickbacks and
illicit surcharges to Saddam Hussein's government through the U.N.-backed
oil for food program. Simply Prince Bandar and the rest of the Saudi royal
family saw that as usurping their profits from oil. The Saudi royal family
asked the Bush family for help. The Saudis asked to be rid of Hussein once
and for all. It was at that point, George W. Bush received his marching
orders to win the Whitehouse with the singular mission to destroy Hussein.
Once in office, all Bush #43 needed was an excuse to attack. Bush
manufactured the excuses he needed with miss information regarding Hussein
as a threat to the United States.
Sadly, George Bush has murdered 2065 U.S. troops, in addition to wounding
15,568 others simply to grant the Saudis their wish.
