Stop The Coup

We have long been suspicious of the so-called CIA leak case.

When it turned out that Colin Powell's long time friend and deputy,
Richard Armitage, was the original source of the Valerie Plame leak
to Robert Novak we were not at all surprised. The extremely anti-
Israel Novak has long been an admirer of the extremely anti-Israel
Colin Powell.


Vice President Cheney must be enraged over the fact that it was
Colin Powell's long time friend and deputy Richard Armitage who was
the original
source of the Valerie Plame leak to Robert Novak.

President Bush must be furious at Armitage. And well both Vice
President Cheney and
President Bush should be. What was the end game behind the so-called
CIA leak case?

Was it to somehow lay a perjury trap for Vice President Cheney's
aide, I.Lewis "Scooter" Libby,in the hope that Libby could
be "turned" against Vice President Cheney, which,
might well have led to Vice President Cheney's forced resignation
from office,
and in President Bush being forced to name Colin Powell to replace
Vice President Cheney,
only to be later forced out of office himself, so that Colin Powell
could become President of the United States?

In other words, is what we have here in this so-called "case",
actually the outlines of
an attempted coup against President Bush and Vice President Cheney?

If so, was Colin Powell involved in any way, either directly or
indirectly?

What did Powell know, if anything, and when did Powell know it?



Former Tennesse Senator Fred Thompson, served on the advisory
board of the legal defense fund for Libby, and urged President Bush
to pardon him. If Fred Thompson
enters the race for the Republican nomination for President in 2008
he may be the odds on favorite to win that nomination, at least
according to a variety of political observers, and could thus be
well on the way to becoming the next President of the United States.

It is refreshing to note that Fred Thompson, who played a prosecutor
on TV's "Law and Order" series, was not taken in by real life
prosecutor Patrick J. Fitzgerald.

"I am very happy for Scooter Libby," Thompson said. "I know that
this is a great relief to him, his wife and children. This will
allow a good American, who has done a lot for his country, to resume
his life."



Happily Fred Thompson is not the only person not to be taken in by
real life federal
prosecutor Patrick J. Fitzgerald.

We hope that Thompson will also not be taken in by his campaign
manager. In fact
we urge everyone who can do so to DEMAND that Fred Thompson name a
different
campaign manager altogether.

"Fred Thompson names anti-Israel ex-senator as campaign manager

Republican presidential hopeful Fred Thompson, who has yet to
officially announce his candidacy, has chosen as his new campaign
manager and ex-senator who is reviled by many within the party for
being soft on Islamic terrorism and an enemy of the Jewish state.

As of last week, Thompson's campaign is being run by former Michigan
senator Spencer Abraham, who is best known for his total opposition
to
almost any form of realistic border control between the US and
Mexico.

But Abraham, who is a Christian of Lebanese descent, has also carved
out an image of himself as a facilitator and supporter of anti-US and
anti-Israel Islamic fundamentalism.

During his one term in the Senate, Spencer was the driving force
behind a bill that granted more than $250 million in US taxpayers'
money to Hizballah-controlled southern Lebanon. Nearly every penny
went into the terror group's pocket.

His next move was to exhort American Muslim Association (AMA)
director
Agha Saeed as a positive influence on the US political scene. That
despite the fact that the AMA had recently sponsored events that
incited violence against the Jews and upheld Hizballah and Hamas as
models for Muslims everywhere.

In 2000, just months before his electoral defeat and the end of his
short legislative career, Spencer was one of only two senators who
refused to sign an open letter condemning escalating terrorist
attacks
by Yasser Arafat's PLO against Israeli civilians.

It was previously reported that Thompson was planning to visit Israel
in the coming months in order to gain more perspective on the Middle
East peace process. That visit, if it still happens, is expected to
take on a whole different tone with Spencer Abraham in charge of
Thompson's schedule."

We were also disturbed by a recent Thompson comment broadcast on
CSPAN, which
covered him, in which Thompson came out for religious displays, in
this case a
"creche", on public property.

We hope that Thompson turns out to be "a uniter not a divider", and
will change
his position on that issue, and support the Strict Constructionist
Constitutional separation of religion from government at all levels.
It should
be recalled that most Americans whose ancestors came voluntarily to
America to
escape religious persecution,which the unity of government and
religion so often
brings with it, seek a nation that is tolerant of all faiths, and
sponsors no
particular faith over any other faith.

Another real life federal prosecutor, GOP presidential candidate and
former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani said: "After evaluating the
facts, the president came to a reasonable decision and I believe the
decision was correct."

Predictably the appeasers were vocal in their criticism of President
Bush's brave
decision in the Libby case.

Democratic presidential candidate and Illinois Sen. Barack Obama
offered a different take.
"This decision to commute the sentence of a man who compromised our
national security cements the legacy of an administration
characterized by a politics of cynicism and division, one that has
consistently placed itself and its ideology above the law," Obama
said. "This is exactly the kind of politics we must change so we can
begin restoring the American people's faith in a government that
puts the country's progress ahead of the bitter partisanship of
recent years."
Presidential candidate and New York Sen. Hillary Clinton described
actions that led to Libby's conviction as part of a larger effort by
the White House to silence critics of the war in Iraq.
"Today's decision is yet another example that this administration
simply considers itself above the law," said Clinton of Bush's
decision to commute Libby's sentence. "This case arose from the
administration's politicization of national security intelligence
and its efforts to punish those who spoke out against its policies.
"Four years into the Iraq war, Americans are still living with the
consequences of this White House's efforts to quell dissent. This
commutation sends the clear signal that in this Administration,
cronyism and ideology trump competence and justice."
Fellow 2008 hopeful and former North Carolina Sen. John Edwards also
blasted the commuted sentence.
"Only a president clinically incapable of understanding that
mistakes have consequences could take the action he did today,"
Edwards said. "President Bush has just sent exactly the wrong signal
to the country and the world. In George Bush's America, it is
apparently okay to misuse intelligence for political gain, mislead
prosecutors and lie to the FBI.
"George Bush and his cronies think they are above the law and the
rest of us live with the consequences. The cause of equal justice in
America took a serious blow today."
"Last week Vice President Cheney asserted that he was beyond the
reach of the law," added Sen. Joe Biden of Delaware, another
presidential candidate. "Today, President Bush demonstrated the
lengths he would go to, ensuring that even aides to *** Cheney are
beyond the judgment of the law. It is time for the American people
to be heard -- I call for all Americans to flood the White House
with phone calls tomorrow expressing their outrage over this blatant
disregard for the rule of law."
Other partisans also expressed outrage.
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said: "The president's decision to
commute Mr. Libby's sentence is disgraceful. Libby's conviction was
the one faint glimmer of accountability for White House efforts to
manipulate intelligence and silence critics of the Iraq war. Now,
even that small bit of justice has been undone.
"Judge (Reggie) Walton correctly determined that Libby deserved to
be imprisoned for lying about a matter of national security," Reid
said. "The Constitution gives President Bush the power to commute
sentences, but history will judge him harshly for using that power
to benefit his own vice president's chief of staff who was convicted
of such a serious violation of law."

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said: "The president's commutation of
Scooter Libby's prison sentence does not serve justice, condones
criminal conduct and is a betrayal of trust of the American people.
"The president said he would hold accountable anyone involved in the
Valerie Plame leak case. By his action today, the president shows
his word is not to be believed," Pelosi said. "He has abandoned all
sense of fairness when it comes to justice, he has failed to uphold
the rule of law, and he has failed to hold his administration
accountable."
House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer said:"It is very disappointing
that the president has chosen to substitute his judgment for that of
the trial judge who heard all the evidence in Mr. Libby's case, as
well as the federal appellate panel which ruled today that Mr. Libby
could not delay serving his prison term.
"The charges against Mr. Libby were not insubstantial; a jury
convicted him of lying to authorities and obstructing the
investigation into the public disclosure of a CIA operative's
identity." Stoyer said. " In the last election, accountability for
wrongdoing was a major issue. With this decision today in the Libby
case, the president continues to demonstrate that he rejects
accountability for wrongdoing in his administration."
Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry also criticized the decision as a
misstep of justice.
"President Bush's 11th hour commutation of Scooter Libby's sentence
makes a mockery of the justice system and betrays the idea that all
Americans are expected to be held accountable for their actions,
even close friends of Vice President Cheney," Kerry said. "It's a
tragedy that with young Americans paying the ultimate price in Iraq
for this administration's mistakes, this White House continues to
avoid accountability and reward deceit for their friends and
supporters."

Kerry betrayed the 2004 Democratic Primary voters, whom he had
conned into
voting for him by appearing to be against appeasement only to turn
out
to be an appeaser himself after he was nominated in 2004. We will
oppose Howard the Coward Dean if he runs in 2008. When Dean said on
December 15th, 2003 that : "It is not my policy that you have to end
terror
before you can have negotiations. That is not my policy at all."

It was the last straw for us, and we hope for you.Kerry correctly
skewered Dean for calling members of Hamas soldiers. Dean
said, "there is a war going on in the Middle East, and members of
Hamas are soldiers in that war."

Kerry said: "Dean insults the memory of every innocent man, woman,
and
child killed by these murderers. Hamas militants are not soldiers in
a war - they are terrorists who need to be stopped."

Now that Colin Powell has called for talks with Hamas will Kerry
correctly
skewer Powell for saying that? Don't hold your breath waiting for
that speech
from Kerry, who has turned out to be an appeaser himself.


Saddam paid the families of terrorists $25,000 bounties for the
murder of Jews.
It is time that President Bush and Secretary of State Rice
recognized that a lot
of those terrorists worked for Arafat and for his long time aide and
deputy
Abu Abbas, a.k.a. Abu Mazen, the head of Fatah and the so-
called "PLO", the
so-called P.A.", etc. and stop dealing with, arming, and aiding that
gangster
and the gangs he now leads.


Independent Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders also chimed in.
"A jury of his peers found Libby guilty of lying about his role in
revealing the identity of a covert CIA operative," Sanders said. "It
is unfortunate that President Bush in commuting his sentence has
once again put political considerations above the interests of our
judicial system."
Republican congressional leaders countered with statements of
support for the reduced penalty for Vice President *** Cheney's
former chief of staff.
"President Bush did the right thing today in commuting the prison
term for Scooter Libby," said House Republican Whip Roy Blunt. "The
prison sentence was overly harsh and the punishment did not fit the
crime. The sentence was based on charges that had nothing to do with
the leak of the identity of a CIA operative."

Was Armitage acting on his own or on Colin Powell's orders?
Will Powell and Armitage be called to testify under oath regarding
that key question?

We certainly hope so. We wonder what the end game of the so-called
CIA leak case
actually was.

We note that the special prosecutor in the case Patrick J.
Fitzgerald had a rather interesting background, to say the least.
Was Patrick J. Fitzgerald really more concerned with
covering himself and his failure to recognize the hand of Saddam
Hussein in cases he handled, such as the first attack on the World
Trade Center in 1993, than he was in pursuing the truth in the so-
called CIA leak case? After all the gist of the argument underlying
that case as made by the appeasers is that Wilson was being smeared
by some mythical vast right-wing conspiracy that sought to reveal
Wilson's wife's career in an effort to diminish Wilson's
effectiveness in his role as a critic of the liberation of Iraq.

But if it could be shown that the liberation of Iraq was totally
justifiable, and that
Saddam Hussein was behind both the 1993 attack on the World Trade
Center,
and the September 11th, 2001 attacks on America, wouldn't the
American people
demand to know why Patrick J. Fitzgerald had failed to see Saddam's
hand in the
first attack on the World Trade Center in 1993?

In fact, wouldn't the families of those who died on September 11th,
2001 begin litigation
against Patrick J. Fitzgerald personally for his failure to
recognize Saddam's hand in the
first attack on the World Trade Center in 1993?

After all, if Patrick J. Fitzgerald, who prosecuted the case on the
first attack on the World Trade Center in 1993, had recognized
Saddam's hand in the
first attack on the World Trade Center in 1993 the U.S. could well
have used that attack
as a Casus belli a case to go to war against Saddam Hussein then.

If it had, Iraq would have been liberated then. The events of
September 11th, 2001,
which were masterminded by Saddam Hussein would never have happened.

Cousin of Kennedy assassin Sirhan Sirhan suspected in kibbutz
massacre

of Palestinian terrorist suspects in Judea and Samaria on Tuesday as

manhunt continued for Tanzim terrorist Sirhan Sirhan, blamed for the
shooting attack in Kibbutz Metzer on Sunday night November 10th,
2002.
Security sources confirmed Wednesday that they suspect that Sirhan, a
resident of Tulkarm, carried out the attack and Palestinian reports
claimed that his uncle was among those arrested on Tuesday by
security
forces. The suspect is related to Sirhan B. Sirhan, the Jerusalemite
who assassinated US Senator Robert Kennedy in 1968. Kennedy was shot
dead in 1968 at Los Angeles Ambassador Hotel by Sirhan Sirhan, a
25-year-old Palestinian immigrant who said he felt betrayed by
Kennedy's support for Israel in the Six-Day War of 1967. At the time,
Kennedy was a Democratic senator running for president. Israeli
security sources said they believe the gunman in the Kibbutz Metzer
attack is a cousin of the Kennedy assassin, and may have been named
after his infamous relative. The Kennedy assassin is serving a life
sentence in a California state prison. His lawyers have suggested
that
if he was released from prison he could return to the so
called palestinian
territories. Sirhan has been denied parole 10 times and prosecutors
say his return to Judea and Samaria could further enflame the
Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Meanwhile, the Tanzim Al-Aksa Brigades
on Tuesday vowed to continue attacks against Israeli civilians and
soldiers, after claiming Sundays attack at Metzer in which five

execution of two American diplomats in 1973, a former U.S.
intelligence officer says. James Walsh said he knew of a tape
recording in which Arafat calmly discussed an attack on the Saudi
Arabian Embassy in Khartoum, Sudan. In February 1973 gunmen had burst
into the embassy and seized American Ambassador Cleo Noel and his
charge d'affaires, George Curtis Moore. The Black September terrorist
organization took responsibility for the assault and demanded the
release of Sirhan Sirhan, the imprisoned assassin of Robert F.
Kennedy. and other jailed Palestinians. Walsh, then a member of the
National Security Agency based in Cyprus, said his organization
intercepted a conversation between Arafat and Black September in
which
the PLO chairman ordered the killing of the Americans and a Belgian
diplomat. Walsh told the Israeli newspaper Haaretz that the
conversation was never disclosed by U.S. officials because it would
compromise American eavesdropping resources. Walsh said the NSA had
intercepted a series of phone calls between Arafat and the Black
September kidnappers. Officials in Jerusalem said the United States
had been informed of the conversation through another channel. They
said then-Prime Minister Golda Meir told then-President Richard Nixon
that Israel had also intercepted a conversation between Arafat and

endorsed
the Presidential Candidacy of Eugene McCarthy, Democrat of Minnesota
for the 1968 Democratic Presidential Nomination. Senator McCarthy,
(not to be confused with Republican Senator Joe McCarthy of Wisconsin
who was Eugene McCarthys opposite in more ways than one), campaigned
on a platform of opposition to the Vietnam War in 1968, a war that
McCarthy called: Illegal, Immoral, and unconstitutional. Two weeks
later Dr. King was murdered in Memphis. Had he lived he would have
gone on to campaign for McCarthy, who was 7 points ahead of Nixon in
the polls. With Dr. King by his side McCarthy would have gone on to
be
nominated by the Democratic Party in 1968 and elected President in
November 1968. Robert F. Kennedy would have ended his campaign and
joined with Gene McCarthy and Dr. King to end the war. Instead Dr.
Kings murder caused disunity in the Democratic Party. Bobby Kennedy
sought the Democratic Presidential nomination, only to be murdered
himself on June 4th, 1968 2 months to the day after Dr. King was
murdered. June 4th, 1968 was also the first anniversary of the Six-
Day
War. As the US Senator from New York State, a state that McCarthy
would have carried handily in the June 1968 Democratic Primary, Bobby
Kennedy would have to have obeyed the wishes of the people of his
state and dropped out of the Presidential race after that primary and
endorsed Gene McCarthy. But the primary came after Bobby Kennedy had
been killed. Beating a dead Bobby Kennedy was no victory. Not having
a
live Bobby Kennedy on hand to concede defeat and endorse Gene
McCarthy
meant that Hubert Humphrey, a supporter of the war in Vietnam, would
go on to become the Democratic Presidential nominee, only to lose to
Richard M. Nixon in November of 1968. Thus the war in Vietnam would
continue no matter who, Humphrey, or Nixon, won. Keeping America
tied down in Vietnam was essential for Israel's arab enemies who
hoped that America would be reluctant to come to Israel's aid when
the eventual arab attack came.
That attack came on October 6th, 1973, with a Pearl Harbor surprise
attack on the Holiest Day in Judaism, Yom Kippur. The arab attackers
however, had failed to comprehend that President Nixon would come to
the aid of Israel.
Sadat was assassinated, it seems to us, on the orders of Saddam
Hussein on the 8th anniversary to the day of the Yom Kippur War,
October 6th, 1981, for his failure to defeat Israel in that war.
Saddam used the same gang, Sheik Rahman's gang, which he would later
use to hit the Speaker of the Egyptian Parliament when Egypt sided
with America in the Gulf War, the same gang would later be used by
Saddam for the first attack on the World Trade Center in 1993.
"The World Trade Center bombers managed to vaporize President
Clinton's limo. President Clinton was scheduled for an appearance
at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey the following
Monday, but he could easily have chosen to spend the weekend in
Manhattan or nearby New Jersey with friends in either location. So
he could have been at the World Trade Center on the Friday it was
bombed. the World Trade Center in Manhattan which had a heliport .
Clinton
would have presumably taken a chopper to that heliport, gone down to
the basement, gotten into his limo and then someone on site would
have
detonated the van blowing the limo up with Clinton inside it. Iraq
may well have had a hand in this as another key member of that gang
is
said to have escaped to Iraq using documents provided by
Iraq. During the Gulf War the same gang killed the Speaker of the
Egyptian Parliament when Egypt broke ranks with Iraq over the
invasion
of Kuwait. The same gang is alleged to have assassinated Sadat.More
than likely, like the attempt on the
life of Al Haig when he was at NATO some years back, or the hit on
some important Russians in Chechnya , the World Trade Center bomb
could have been remote controlled. "The first battle of the first
war of
the twenty-first century began and ended in under 30 seconds
sometime after 12:18 on the afternoon of Friday, February 26th,

that the "hate-filled" mastermind of the bombing in Oklahoma City

government, "probably Iraq" hired "a Middle Eastern bombing engineer"
to detonate the explosion with the help of neo-Nazis. In a court
petition, lawyers say the attack was "contracted out" through an
Iraqi
base in the Philippines and it was "possible that those who carried
out the bombing were unaware of the true sponsor". Was Stephen Jones

Phillipines. He left letters, with his ex-wife, Lana Padilla,
explaining what to do in case he died. Three days after he returned

January 16, 1995, he was sharing a motel room in Kansas with Mr.
Mc.Veigh. What was the purpose of this visit Why was he so concerned
that he might die Did he meet with Ramsey Yousef, who at the same
time was testing a plan to blow up airliners in the Philippines and
who was later convicted in the bombing of the World Trade Center Did
Nichols receive training there on how to construct and detonate large
bombs Was he fearful that there could be an accident during his
training December, 1994 (See TIME magazine July 29, 1996) Ramsey
Yousef tests his plan for attacking U.S. carriers by boarding a
Philippine Airlines flight on the first leg from the Philippines to
Japan. He carried with him the components of a bomb, unassembled in
his carry-on bag. On board he assembled the bomb, which was made of
gun cotton, a nitroglycerine solution packed into a contact-lens
bottle. He tucked the bomb under a cushion and left the plane after
its first stop in the Philippine city of Cebu. Two hours later the
device exploded killing a passenger. Cebu is the city where in July
1990 Nichols travelled to find a mail-order bride and met Marife
Torres. He was 35, she was 17 and they were married there on November
20, 1990. (NY Times December 24, 1997) An associate of Ramsey Yousef,
Edwin Angeles, had been arrested in the Phillipines where he was
contacted by McVeigh's attorney, Stephen Jones. Angeles linked
Nichols
(a.k.a. `the farmer') to Yousef in a meeting on the island of
Mindanao. In his book `Others Unknown', Jones describes that at a
meeting in Davao, Angeles met an American who introduced himself as
`the farmer'. Among those present at the meeting were Ramsey Yousef,
Abdul Hakim Murad, and Wali Khan Amin Shah. The meeting was to
discuss
terrorism and Murad, Khan and Yousef would later be defendants in the
plot to blow up twelve U.S. airliners. All were convicted on
September
5, 1996 and are in American prisons. On April 19, 1995, Murad told
his guard in his New York cell that the Oklahoma city bombing was the
work of Islamic Jihad. But back to Yousef and the World Trade Center
bombing where we find a link also between him and Iraq .September 15,
1996 The Telegraph (U.K. Electronic Edition) Issue 480 According
to Dr Mylroie, the attempt to blow up the twin towers of the World
Trade Centre in New York on February 26, 1993 .... was an act of
Iraqi
state- sponsored terrorism conducted by proxies. After studying the
telephone records and document archives from the trial, she has
concluded that the mastermind said to be behind the bombing, a
shadowy
figure called Ramsi Yousef, was working for Iraqi intelligence. The
Justice Department did not address this issue in the official
investigation. It concluded that the bombing was the work of Islamic
fundamentalists loyal to a blind Egyptian cleric. Jim Fox, then head
of the New York FBI office, suspected Iraqi involvement but says that

to present an alternative theory, gathered after spending $10 million
travelling the world, that an international conspiracy was
responsible. Many of the victim's relatives are so concerned at
evidence of this aspect that they are suing the government, insisting

The FBI has pursued endless leads into the 1995 Oklahoma bombing,
collecting more than 26,000 witness statements. But it has never been
to visit him at his bungalow in Tulsa. The omission is curious.
Mahon,
47, is an associate of the government's chief suspect, Tim McVeigh.
Indeed, McVeigh's defence team says Mahon sent a tape to their client
in prison urging him to accept his "sacrifice" and reminding him in a
subtle way that members of his family were vulnerable. Before the
bombing on April 19, 1995, he was the subject of a terrorism
investigation which generated allegations that he was plotting to
blow
up a federal building in Oklahoma. In case the authorities had
overlooked this, an undercover informant reminded the FBI two days
after the bombing that she had told them that Mahon had made three
trips to Oklahoma City. On one visit in 1994, the informant said he
"cased" the building that was attacked. A former Imperial Wizard of
the Ku Klux Klan and now a leader of the more militant White Aryan
Resistance, Mahon has never made a secret of his extremism. He has
called for the overthrow of the United States government by "any
means" and regards it as an honour to have been barred from Britain
and Canada. "I always deliver my bombs in person, in disguise," he
said mischievously. "I can look like a hispanic or even a Negro. I'm
the master of disguise." He has kept his sense of humour, despite
being the chief target of McVeigh's defence team in the trial that
starts tomorrow. McVeigh's lawyers have introduced documents in court
asserting a "high probability" that Mahon and his friend Andreas
Strassmeir, a former German army officer, were behind the Oklahoma
bombing. "This is where I make my bombs," he said, giving me a tour
of
a workshop attached to his house. "Just kidding. Everybody seems to
think I did the bombing. Even the Iraqis think I did it," he
explained, saying he had been on the Iraqi payroll as a propagandist
for more than three years. "They paid me $100 a month."

have one hour of exercise in the nation's

Bernard V. Kleinman, said by phone that his client has had

A former investigative reporter for the NBC affiliate in Oklahoma
City
last night told Fox News Channel's Bill O'Reilly she has gathered
massive evidence of a foreign conspiracy involving Saudi terrorist
leader Osama bin Laden in the 1995 bombing of the federal building
that killed 168 people. Jayna Davis, former reporter for KFOR-TV in
Oklahoma City, says she took her evidence-including hundreds of court
records, 24 sworn witness statements and reports from law
enforcement,
intelligence and terror experts-to the FBI, which refused even to
accept the material. Two men were convicted of murder and conspiracy
charges in the bombing-Timothy McVeigh, who faces execution May 16,
and Terry Nichols, who yesterday asked that Oklahoma charges against
him be dismissed as he has already been convicted in federal court.
Nichols, 45, is serving a life prison sentence for his federal
conviction on eight involuntary manslaughter counts and conspiracy
for
the April 19, 1995, bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building.
State prosecutors are seeking the death penalty against Nichols. But
defense attorneys said yesterday constitutional protection against
double jeopardy bars the state from seeking the death penalty. Davis
said federal authorities investigating the bombing decided early on
in
the probe that the blast was the result of a domestic conspiracy, not
a foreign one, ignoring all evidence to the contrary. She said a
Middle East terrorist cell was in operation only blocks from the
federal building, and that an Iraqi national who formerly served in
Saddam Hussein's Republican Guard was in contact with McVeigh the day
of the bombing. She said this suspect arrived at the crime scene in a
Ryder truck moments before the blast and sped away in a brown
Chevrolet pickup truck immediately after. An all-points bulletin was
issued for this suspect, but was later withdrawn inexplicably. Davis
said her evidence indicates a conspiracy involving McVeigh, Nichols
and at least seven men of Middle Eastern ethnic background. She
called
bin Laden the mastermind of the conspiracy. "The evidence we have
gathered definitely implicates McVeigh and Nichols," she said. "I
want
to make that very clear. They were in it up to their eyeballs."
Davis
also points to court records offered in the Nichols defense that
suggest he had contacts with a member of bin Laden's terrorist
organization in the Philippines prior to the bombing. When she took
her hundreds of pages of documentation of conspiracy in the bombing
to
the FBI, Davis said agents "turned me away and refused to take my
statements." "I was flabbergasted," she told O'Reilly. "I am unable
to imagine any reason they would not accept it." But McVeigh supplies

to
a Middle Eastern terrorist cell ultimately controlled by bin Laden.
"What we discovered, an intelligence source at one of the highest
levels in the federal government later confirmed, was a Middle
Eastern
terrorist cell living and operating in the heart of Oklahoma City
just
a few miles from the Alfred P. Murrah building," Davis said. Her NBC
affiliate had located several witnesses who claimed that an Iraqi
national with ties to Saddam Hussein's Republican Guard was seen in
the company of McVeigh just prior to the bombing, Davis said. The
Iraqi was also seen driving away from the bomb scene in a car
identified by the FBI as a possible getaway vehicle. "We have 24
sworn
witness affidavits that tie seven to eight Arab men to various stages
of the bombing plot from the beginning all the way to the day in
which
the plot was executed," the former NBC reporter told O'Reilly. "It
really is a foreign conspiracy masterminded and funded by Osama bin
Laden, according to my intelligence sources," she asserted. Davis is
not alone in that belief. In his 1999 book on the Oklahoma City
tragedy, "Others Unknown," McVeigh's lawyer Stephen Jones made
similar
claims, citing a meeting in the early 1990s between World Trade
Center
bomber Yousef and McVeigh's partner, Terry Nichols, in the
Philippines, which he called a "hotbed of fundamentalist Muslim
activity." Jones said his research shows that bin Laden was in the
Philippines at the same time as Yousef and Nichols. Both Jones and
Davis said federal investigators were uninterested in exploring any

"The one Army link established in the case so far is the bond shared
by McVeigh and Terry Nichols. The two men joined up on the same day
in
May 1988 and went through basic training together at Fort Benning,
Georgia. They were then stationed together in the same company at
Fort
Riley enter Iraq during the Gulf War. Nichols was discharged for
undisclosed reasons in May 1989, but McVeigh rose to sergeant and
went
on to serve in Operation Desert Storm, where he won several medals,
including a Bronze Star. Although the awards were described by
Pentagon officials as "typical" for those who served in the theater,
one
officer notes, "Some captains and majors didn't get Bronze Stars, so
he must have been a half-decent soldier." That is an understatement,
says Robin Littleton, McVeigh's army roommate and one of his closest
friends in the service. "Tim was the perfect soldier," Littleton told
Time. "I swear to God he could have been sergeant major of the Army -
he was that good of a soldier." One of his former commanders, Captain
Terry Guild, 28, now stationed in Hawaii, agrees: "He was a very
normal, good American serving his country." according to the
Anti-Defamation League last week, McVeigh in 1993 ran an ad to sell a
military launcher in the Spotlight, a publication put out by the
right-wing Liberty Lobby. Though the notice ran under an alias, T.
Tuttle, it listed a Kingman address, and authorities say McVeigh has
been known to use Tuttle as an alias."
Tuttle, it should be noted is the fictional character from the cult
film "Brazil".
On the eve of the anniversary of the assassination of Senator Robert
F. Kennedy on the night of June 4th, 1968, which itself was the
first anniversary of the Six Day War, in which Israel re-united
Jerusalem, and liberated Judea and Samaria from arab despotism,
Canada has arrested "alleged" terrorists with "alleged" links to
international arab terrorists.
Moreover the "alleged" terrorists arrested by Canada
were "allegedly" planning to use the same type of explosive
concoctions used in other terrorist attacks, including the Iraqi
sponsored attack on the Oklahoma City Federal Building which housed
the records of the Iran-Contra scandal which tied Saddam Hussein to
George Herbert Walker Bush and would have proven to be an
embarrassment to Saddam in the arab world. In the Iran-Iraq War then
Vice President George Herbert Walker Bush sent messages to Saddam
telling him to start bombing Iran. The following weekend Saddam
conducted 300 to 400 bombing attacks on Iran, which was then
approached by the U.S. with an offer of missiles to protect itself
from Saddam. Thus began the Iran-Contra scandal which culminated in
the indictment of former Defense Secretary Caspar Weinberger at the
Oklahoma City Federal Building on election eve 1992.
The same type of explosive concoction was also used in the first
bombing of the World Trade Center on February 26th, 1993, which was
the 2nd anniversary to the day of the liberation of Kuwait City in
the 1991 Gulf War and the eleventh anniversary to the day of the
infamous and highly incorrect declaration on February 26th, 1982,
that Iraq was no longer a state sponsor of terror, and was thus
eligible for U.S. grants and "loans", which it subsequently received.
" The AMIA bombing was an attack on the Asociación Mutual Israelita
Argentina (Argentine Israelite Mutual Association, or AMIA) building
in Buenos Aires. It was Argentina's deadliest bombing and the
largest single incident of terrorism against Jews since World War
II. Argentina is home to the largest Jewish community in Latin
America (see Demographics of Argentina). The bombing
On July 18, 1994, a powerful bomb made of ammonium nitrate was
driven in a van through the front gates of the AMIA building in the
Once district near downtown Buenos Aires. The building was a seven-
story structure which was the headquarters of Argentina's Jewish
community. The bomber detonated the bomb, levelling the building and
reducing it to rubble, along with nearby buildings.
Eighty-five people died, most of them Jewish. More than three
hundred others were wounded. The attack came two years after the
1992 Israeli Embassy Attack in Buenos Aires that killed 29, and a
day before a bomber blew himself up on a Panamanian commuter plane,
killing 12 Jews and 9 others. Eight days after the AMIA attack the
Israeli Embassy in London was car-bombed by two Palestinians linked
to Hezbollah.
In the days following the bombing, Israel sent Mossad agents to
Argentina to investigate and Argentina closed its borders for fear
more terrorists could enter. It is thought possible that the bombers
entered Argentina through the Triple Frontier, where the borders of
Argentina, Brazil, and Paraguay meet. Argentina's intelligence
agency, the SIDE, is said to have set up a network of surveillance
called "Centauro" in Paraguay, where many Muslim extremist cells are
said to be located. In the years following the attack SIDE is said
to have stopped another attack on Argentine soil.
Responsibility
Argentina, Israel and the US suspect that Hezbollah was behind the
attack, with backing from Iran. Israeli diplomatic sources who read
the "final" report by SIDE on the attack said in 2003 that the
attack was a suicide bombing carried out by Ibrahim Hussein Berro, a
29-year-old Muslim who has been honored with a plaque in southern
Lebanon for his "martyrdom" on July 18, 1994, the date of the
bombing. This was confirmed by SIDE, the FBI, and Berro's relatives

Baghdad Republic of Iraq Television. Saddam sent his henchman Osama

TORONTO (Reuters) - A group of Canadian residents arrested
for "terrorism related offenses" were inspired by al Qaeda, had
amassed enough explosives to build huge bombs and were planning to
blow up targets in densely populated Ontario, police said on
Saturday.
Mike McDonell, assistant commissioner of the Royal Canadian Mounted
Police, said the group had acquired three metric tons of ammonium
nitrate-or three times the amount used in the 1995 bombing in
Oklahoma City-as they sought to "create explosive devices."

There may be a US connection to the terrorist arrests in Toronto, as
two arrested in March 2006 in Georgia were tracked traveling to
Canada, DC and Pakistan.
Over the last month, investigators have traced Ahmed's path from an
Atlanta mosque to Toronto to Washington, D.C. to Pakistan.
According to a March 23 affidavit unsealed April 21, Ahmed met
Sadequee at Al-Farooq Masjid mosque in Atlanta. Then, the two
suspects traveled to Toronto in March 2005 to discuss potential
terrorist targets with "like-minded Islamic extremists." Lastly,
Ahmed attempted to receive terrorism training during a trip to
Pakistan last year.
Ahmed's March 23 arrest was not made public until April 20 and he is
being held at an undisclosed location by the U.S. Marshal Service
while he awaits trial. He pleaded not guilty on April 19, and no
trial date has been set. [Emphasis added.]
With implication in the Canadian investigation, this should quiet
those who were complaining that the FBI had abducted the Bangladeshi.
Canada's National Post also took a look at the Georgia-Canada
connection in Terrorism's `new guard', published first on May 4,
2006.
Unlike the old guard of terrorists, who were immigrants and refugees
who brought to Canada the conflicts of their homelands, the new
generation consists largely of Canadian-born radical Muslims of
various ethnicities, as well as converts who have adopted the
extremist interpretation of Islam.
The documents also support recent claims by U.S. counterterrorism
officials that extremists are operating inside Canada's borders. The
presence of Islamic terrorists in Canada was noted two weeks ago,
when the U.S. Department of Justice announced the arrests of two
Georgia youths.
Ehsanul Islam Sadequee, 19, and Syed Haris Ahmed, 21, are accused of
traveling [sic] to Canada last March for "terrorism-related planning
and co-ordination" with local radicals.
The FBI says while in Toronto they discussed terrorist training and
plots to bomb U.S. military facilities and oil refineries.
The next 48 hours will surely be full of related developments and

While European Union officials praised Yasser Arafat's decision to
appoint his first-ever prime minister, historians of the Holocaust
winced at the news that a leading candidate for the job is the
author of a book denying that the Nazis murdered 6 million Jews.
The candidate is Mahmoud Abbas (also known as Abu Mazen), Arafat's
second in command, and his book, published in Arabic in 1983,
translates as "The Other Side: The Secret Relations Between Nazism
and the Leadership of the Zionist Movement." It was originally his
doctoral dissertation, completed at Moscow Oriental College.
The book repeatedly attempts to cast doubt on the fact that the
Nazis slaughtered 6 million Jews, according to a translation
provided by the Simon Wiesenthal Center in Los Angeles.
"Following the war," he writes, "word was spread that six million
Jews were amongst the victims and that a war of extermination was
aimed primarily at the Jews...The truth is that no one can either
confirm or deny this figure. In other words, it is possible that the
number of Jewish victims reached six million, but at the same time
it is possible that the figure is much smaller-below one million."
Abbas denies that the gas chambers were used to murder Jews, quoting
a "scientific study" to that effect by French Holocaust-denier
Robert Faurisson.
Abbas' book then asserts: "The historian and author Raoul Hilberg
thinks that the figure does not exceed 890,000."
That is, of course, utterly false. Hilberg, a distinguished
historian and author of the classic study "The Destruction of the
European Jews," has never said or written any such thing.
Abbas believes the 6 million figure is the product of a Zionist
conspiracy: "It seems that the interest of the Zionist movement...is
to inflate this figure so that their gains will be greater," he
writes. "This led them to emphasize this figure in order to gain the
solidarity of international public opinion with Zionism. Many
scholars have debated the figure of six million and reached stunning
conclusions-fixing the number of Jewish victims at only a few
hundred thousand."
Another falsehood. In fact, no serious scholar proposes such a
figure.
After reducing the magnitude of the Nazi slaughter so that it no
longer seems to have been a full-scale Holocaust, Abbas seeks to
absolve the Nazis by blaming the Zionist leadership for whatever
killings did take place. According to Abbas, "A partnership was
established between Hitler's Nazis and the leadership of the Zionist
movement...[the Zionists gave] permission to every racist in the
world, led by Hitler and the Nazis, to treat Jews as they wish, so
long as it guarantees immigration to Palestine."
In addition to encouraging the persecution of Jews so they would
immigrate to the Holy Land, the Zionist leaders actually wanted Jews
to be murdered, because-in Abbas' words-"having more victims meant
greater rights and stronger privilege to join the negotiation table
for dividing the spoils of war once it was over. However, since
Zionism was not a fighting partner-suffering victims in a battle-it
had no escape but to offer up human beings, under any name, to raise
the number of victims, which they could then boast of at the moment
of accounting."
Perhaps sentiments of this sort were common within Abbas' circle of
graduate students in the Soviet Union in the 1970s. But in the free
world, such propaganda has never been accepted as serious
scholarship.
In most Western countries, Holocaust-deniers have been treated as
pariahs. In Canada and many European countries, Holocaust-denial is
a criminal offense. In New Zealand, Canterbury University recently
issued an apology for having accepting a master's thesis denying the
Holocaust, while the French minister of education revoked a doctoral
degree that was awarded to a Holocaust-denier by the University of
Nantes. A Polish university professor who denied the Holocaust was
suspended from his position. The Japanese publisher Bungei Shunju
shut down one of its magazines for printing an article denying the
Holocaust.
International pressure compelled Croatian President Franjo Tudjman
to publicly retract statements in his book doubting that the
Holocaust had taken place. Austrian Freedom Party leader Jorg Haider
was ostracized by the international community for his remarks
praising members of the SS, as was French politician Jean Marie Le
Pen, for questioning the existence of the gas chambers and
belittling the significance of the Holocaust. A recent poll found 64
percent of Americans believe world leaders should likewise refuse to
meet with Abbas.
Yet some in the media have treated Abbas with kid gloves, to say the
least. The official BCC News Profile of Abbas reports: "A highly
intellectual man, Abbas studied law in Egypt before doing a Ph.D. in
Moscow. He is the author of several books." The New York Times
recently characterized Abbas as "a lawyer and historian...He holds a
doctorate in history from the Moscow Oriental College; his topic was
Zionism." Neither the BBC nor the Times offered any further
explanation as to the contents of Abbas' writings.
Bestowing the title "historian" upon Mahmoud Abbas awards his
writings a stature they do not deserve, and deals a grievous insult
to every genuine historian.
If Abbas is elevated to the post of prime minister of the
Palestinian Authority, not only the media but the entire
international community will be confronted with the question of
whether Abbas deserves to be treated any differently from Tudjman,
Haider and Le Pen.

Plame Wilson.
The silence in the Liberal blogs is absolutely deafening, Armitage's
revelation is not addressed at dailyKos.com, not even mentioned at
democraticunderground.com, nary a word at the Huffington post,
Wonkette says nothing, Crooksandliars misses the story entirely,
MyDD has zippo, yep even Buzzflash which purports to supply pretty
much all the important news for the moonbats failed to mention
Richard Armitage. Amazing how inconvenient facts seem to be
swallowed up in the static of repetition Katrina, Katrina, Katrina,
Lieberman, Lame-ont, Rumsfeld, Katrina, Bush, Brownie, Katrina,
Floyd, Kat...whoops, did I say Floyd? I'm sorry just a slip. You most
assuredly won't find any mention of Hurricane Floyd in those Left-
wing moonbat blogs. It is another "inconvenient fact" and therefore
to be ignored by the Left.
The dedication of Liberal bloggers to the truth is less than
overwhelming; of course you knew that didn't you. Liberals are
liars. If you don't believe me just watch "Lassie"...err former

John Edwards whenever he answers a question about the war. He bats
his eyes like a Main-Street hooker. Watch Joe "Plagiarizer" Biden
whenever he answers a question about national security, he appears
to have suddenly gotten a piece of sand in his eyes, blink-blink-
blink-blink. In fact the blink reflex is a relatively good indicator
of a person's veracity. When the individual is telling the truth,
their eyes blink normally like everyone else, but let them leave the
realm of fact for the dodgy terrain of untruth and suddenly their
eyes are all a flutter. I suspect if we were to put all the Liberal
politicians together in the same room, they would be able to power a
windmill and reduce the energy requirements of DC. Once you know
this truth, it can be quite amusing to watch Democrats as they
struggle with the truth. It's not infallible, but it is useful.
As for the silence, are you really surprised? The Left has spent
much of the past few years hounding the Bush Administration about
the events surrounding the Novak article. Karl Rove was demonized,
Vice-President Cheney was loudly accused, the President was held up
to scrutiny for his statement that anyone in his administration
involved in the outing of a CIA operative "would be taken care of."
The moonbats of dailyKos and Democraticunderground have openly
bragged about the imminent demise of either Rove or Cheney on an
almost daily basis. They have blithely ignored any information that
would have easily redirected their ire toward those who were more
likely to have been the "leaker."
Liberal arrogance (and it is an epidemic among them) is based on
their ignorance of the facts. Usually that ignorance is by choice.
They choose to "ignore" the facts with which they are confronted,
believing instead their own mythology. So now they have been caught
with their mouths hanging open with nothing to say. Being that
profoundly wrong will do that to you. All of that hope hanging on
their delusional faith in a myth which was never based in reality.
You can expect to see them equally silent in November when all of
their delusional prognostications of a glorious victory in which
they (the just and right) seize back power from conservatives (the
evil and heartless). Of course some of them will immediately revert
into their delusional state and claim that the Republicans have
stolen the elections they have long assumed they would win. They
seem to be incapable of understanding that mere hatred of
Republicans and President Bush is not a sufficient reason for people
to vote for them. One must have some clue as to how to run the
nation and it is becoming increasingly clear that the Democrats
don't have and will never have a clue.
So far, every "policy proposal" they have come forward with has been
a bland accumulation of generalities. They haven't any idea as to
how to deal with the nation's problems.
So look for more of these omissions as time progresses. Richard
Armitage has been a hero of the Left because he was hostile to the
Bush Administrations plans for Iraq. For him to be revealed as the
notorious "leaker" of Robert Novak fame is a severe blow to the
moonbats.
Hey moonbats: "Armitage is the Leaker!" "Armitage is the
Leaker!" "Armitage is the Leaker!" Na-na-na-na-na-na! What ya think
about them apples Markos?

"We need you, Colin," the familiar voice of new national security
adviser
Frank Carlucci pleaded over the phone in December 1986. "This is
serious. Believe me, the presidency is at stake." With those words,
Colin Powell re-entered the Iran-contra affair, a set of events he
had
dangerously advanced in January 1986when he arranged missile
deliveries to Iran , while keeping Pentagon colleagues in the dark.
But
just as Powell played an important behind-the-scenes role in those
missile shipments, he would be equally instrumental in the next
phase,
the scandal's cover-up in 1987-88 The documentary record-some of it
recently declassified at the request of The Consortium-reveals
disturbing new questions about Colin Powell's own "character and
competence," including clear discrepancies in his sworn testimony.
But in late 1986, as Carlucci called Powell in West Germany , the
White
House needed some cool heads and some steady hands. President Reagan
was reeling day after day from disclosures of the reckless
arms-for-hostage scheme with Iran and diversion of money to the
Nicaraguan contra rebels.
After sounding Powell out about his willingness to join the National
Security
Council staff, Carlucci made sure he could wall Powell off from the
scandal. On
Dec. 9, 1986, the
White House obtained from the FBI a statement that Powell was not a
criminal suspect. The next day, Carlucci asked Defense Secretary
Caspar Weinberger "to call Peter Wallison, WH Counsel-to tell them
Colin had no connection with Iran arms sales-except to carry out
President's order," Weinberger wrote down. He then "called Peter
Wallison-Told him Colin Powell had only minimum involvement on
Iran ."
With Carlucci satisfied that his old friend, Powell, could sidestep
the spreading Iran-contra stain, Reagan formally asked the general on
Dec. 12, 1986, to quit his post as commander of V Corps in West
Germany and to become deputy national security adviser. Powell
accepted, taking over those new duties on Jan. 2, 1987. As always,
Powell took to his task energetically.
To put the Iran-contra scandal behind the White House, he help ed
draft a
limited mea-culpa speech by Reagan on March 4, 1987. The president
admitted that
the
arms-for-hostage deal "was a mistake." But Powell failed to force in
some phrasing exonerating his patron, Weinberger, and by inference,
Colin Powell. A Confident General Powell testified before both the
congressional committees and special prosecutor Lawrence Walsh.
Under oath, the general asserted that he did not know about the
early 1985
arms shipments to Iran a key point given the fact that those arms
transfers represented a felony under the Arms Export Control Act. He
insisted that he did not know that U.S. weapons were being shipped
until mid-January 1986 when President Reagan signed a "finding" that
made the deliveries legal.
The distinction was crucial to Powell's
defense of himself and Weinberger. Powell stuck to his story even as
evidence emerged proving that he and Weinberger were reading
top-secret intelligence intercepts in September and October 1985 in
which Iranians described the delivery of U.S. weapons. The Consortium
obtained one of those reports, dated Oct. 2, 1985. It was marked
"SECRET SPOKE ORCON" and was signed by Lt. Gen. William Odom, the
director of the National Security Agency. The sensitive electronic
intercept had picked up a phone conversation a day earlier between
two
Iranian officials, identified as "Mr. Asghari" who was in Europe and
"Mohsen Kangarlu" who was in Tehran . "A large part of the
conversation
had to do with details on the delivery of several more shipments of
weapons into Iran ," wrote Odom in the "exclusive" report which went
only to top officials at CIA, the NSC and the Pentagon. "Asghari then
pressed Kangarlu to provide a list of what he wanted the 'other four
planes' to bring. ... Kangarlu said that he already had provided a
list. Asghari said that those items were for the first two planes.
Asghari reminded Kangarlu that there were Phoenix missiles on the
second plane which were not on the first. ...[Asghari] said that a
flight would be made this week."
When asked about this and other
touchy points by congressional investigators on June 19, 1987, Powell
pleaded a weak memory. He repeatedly used phrases such as "I cannot
specifically recall." At one point, Powell said, "To my recollection,
I don't have a recollection." When asked if Weinberger kept a diary,
Powell responded, "The Secretary, to my knowledge, did not keep a
diary. Whatever notes he kept, I don't know how he uses them or what
he
does with them. He does not have a diary of this ilk, no." As for his
own notebooks from the Iran-contra period, Powell announced that he
had destroyed them.
Weinberger offered similar testimony, claiming
that he took notes "occasionally, but comparatively rarely" and that
they were not "kept in any formal way." Whatever their condition,
however, Weinberger's notes were not delivered to Congress or to the
special prosecutor. That gap of evidence was crucial in the failure
of
the early Iran-contra investigations to breach the White House
stonewall. Fall-Guy Plan In 1987, the White House cover story-blaming
the scandal on Oliver North and other out-of-control NSC
officers-held, even though North had publicly denounced the official
version as a "fall-guy plan." Thanks in no small part to Powell's
fencing with his inquisitors, the investigation was blunted, Ronald
Reagan's presidency was saved and George Bush could tell the voters
that he had been "out-of-the-loop" on Iran-contra.
The Consortium investigation found that Powell's records at the NSC
and at the
Pentagon revealed no information about-or apparent interest
in-longstanding allegations that the contras engaged in cocaine
trafficking -(Ironically, recent disclosures in federal court records
cite Bermudez as the contra leader who gave a green light to massive
contra cocaine shipments into the United States .) After Congress
ended
its Iran-contra investigation in fall 1987, Powell mounted a
counter-attack -To his surprise, though, Powell was not quite through
with Iran-contra. In 1991, Walsh's investigators stumbled upon
Weinberger's long-lost notes which had been filed away in an obscure
corner of the Library of Congress. Among those papers was a note from
Oct. 3, 1985. It indicated that Weinberger had received information
from an NSA intercept that Iran was receiving "arms transfers"-the
point that Powell had tried so hard to obscure.
The belated discovery of Weinberger's diaries led to the former
defense
secretary's
indictment for obstruction of justice. The notes also prompted Powell
to submit a pro-Weinberger affidavit that stunningly contradicted
Powell's own earlier sworn testimony in which he had insisted that
Weinberger maintained no "diaries." In the affidavit dated April 21,
1992, however, Powell argued that he regarded Weinberger's daily
notes
as a "personal diary" and that it was "entirely possible" that
Weinberger would not have understood these personal papers to be
within the scope of the Iran-contra document requests. Though the
contradiction was clear, Powell was never held to account.. The only
threat to Powell's reputation would be the trial of Caspar Weinberger
which was scheduled to start in January 1993 and which listed Powell
as a prospective witness. Bush -pardon(ed ) Weinberger, on Christmas
Eve 1992. Weinberger thus was spared a trial-and Powell was saved the
embarrassment of public attention over his dubious role in the
Iran-contra affair."

Moving the money...
In the welter of events following the bombing of the World Trade
Center in Feb. 26, 1993, few noticed that the first man arrested,
Mohammed Salameh-the poor, unemployed illegal immigrant --
offered $5 million for bail. Where could he get this kind of money?
The judge refused bail. But was the source of Salameh's offer the
same as the one that funded the eight men-arrested shortly
afterward-who planned to blow up Manhattan's tunnels and bridges
and to assassinate public officials?
Were the same money sources behind the final attack on the World
Trade Center on Sept. 11?
.... For a long time, there has been evidence that terrorist,
international drug trafficking and criminal organizations use the
same fund-raising methods to enrich themselves.
Yet no one seemed to connect the dots. And no one seriously tried to
crack down on their financing.
Bin Laden's is only one among many hostile international criminal
organizations, often state-sponsored, that will do whatever they can
to diminish the status of the United States as the only superpower.
According to a State Department report, the Taliban, who are at bin
Laden's service, has the advantage of controlling the world's
largest heroin production and distribution in the world.
Since the Taliban took over Afghanistan, the heroin production
soared to hundreds of tons each year. In 1999 alone, the world
production of heroin was estimated at 500 metric tons; 400 were
produced by the Taliban and available to fund bin Laden and his
associates worldwide. First warning
The writing was on the wall on July 5, 1991, when the Bank of
England shut down what was the most important Islamic bank in the
world, the Bank of Credit and Commerce International (BCCI). This
criminal entity was created by the Pakistani Aaga Hassan Abedi "to
fight the evil influence of the West"; to help with the creation of
the "Islamic Bomb"; to finance all Muslim terrorist organizations;
and to launder the money that was generated mostly by illicit drug
trafficking and other illegal activities, including arms
trafficking.
When BCCI went belly up, we learned from thousands of documents that
Abu Nidal-the notorious Palestinian terrorist organization that
now enjoys the hospitality of Iraq's Saddam Hussein, the Palestine
Liberation Organization (PLO), Hezbollah and bin Laden-had
accounts in the bank. By the end of the 1980s, the "special
services" provided by BCCI included access to Western humanitarian
and international development funds, as well as drug money
laundering, secret transfers of cash and bribes.
A "Black Network," a special enforcement unit supported by Abu Nidal
and other terrorist organizations, operated from Pakistan. The same
Pakistan that harbored bin Laden for many years while its officials
told the United States that they didn't know his whereabouts. And
the same Pakistan that for decades, even according to the State
Department's annual report, had been a major drug trafficking and
money laundering center.

Western blindness
Yet, now more importantly, we also discovered that the American and
British governments knew and kept the bank open for a long time. The
bank "that would bribe God" was able to get away with its criminal
activities for decades due to Abedi's clever portrayal of the Muslim
nations as victims of Western-and particularly U.S. --
"imperialism." And when the bank was shuttered, the accusation in
the Muslim/Arab and Third World countries was that the U.S. and the
United Kingdom governments closed the bank to curtail the growing
fiscal power of Muslim countries.
Like Abedi, anti-American, anti-Western terrorist and radical Muslim
states and organizations, such as the Taliban, Al Qaeda, Hamas,
Hezbollah, the PLO, Iraq and Iran, use Western democratic rhetoric
to their advantage. But it is the willful blindness, mainly toward
the growing volume of drug money laundering, exercised by Western
bankers on the one hand and Western politicians on the other, that
makes money laundering possible, despite the many laws and
international conventions to control this phenomenon.
The BCCI was the first warning to the West. The second warning about
the abuse of European and American financial markets by terrorist
organizations, as well as their involvement in the illicit arms and
drug trade, was made in February 1994 by the British National
Criminal Intelligence Service (NCIS).
The Organized Crime Unit of the NCIS warned that Middle East
terrorist groups and states were targeting the financial centers of
London, Frankfurt and other Western countries, and that they favor
illegal drug trafficking, money laundering and fraud....
Clinton appeasement
Despite its stated policy of not negotiating with terrorists, the
Clinton administration went out of its way to appease a few of the
20th century's most notorious terror groups: the Revolutionary Armed
Forces of Colombia (FARC), the PLO and the Irish Republican Army.
All are heavily involved in the drug trade.
On the eve of the 1993 handshake on the White House lawn between
Israeli Prime Minister Yitzak Rabin and PLO Chairman Yasser Arafat,
Britain's National Criminal Intelligence Service estimated the PLO's
ill-gotten gains to total between $8 billion to $10 billion, with an
annual income of about $1.5 billion to $2 billion from "donations,
extortion, payoffs, illegal arms dealing, drug trafficking, money
laundering, fraud, etc."
Since then, Washington has only aided and abetted the PLO. Since the
start of the Oslo process, Arafat has received at least $3 billion
more from the United States and the international community, without
any serious demand for accountability, according to a report this
year to Congress. Arafat, in well-documented instances, has been
systematically skimming off portions of these funds, as he has with
monies given to him on behalf of the refugees in the camps.
The PLO was in the drug trafficking business almost from the
beginning. Operating from Lebanon, under Habash's able leadership
and assisted by a PLO-owned shipping company SUMUD, the organization
exported hashish, opium, heroin and cocaine, first to Europe and
later even to the United States and Australia. In return, it
obtained weapons for their war against Israel and the West, and
amassed a massive treasure trove. In addition, the PLO and Arafat,
who enjoy the financial and strategic support of Hussein and bin
Laden, have the distinction of being the organization that
promoted "suicide bombers" as a weapon.
Yet the Clinton administration subsidized a multitude of radical
Palestinian groups, ranging from Arafat's Fatah branch of the PLO
and its military wing, the Tanzim, to the socialist-nationalist
Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), headed by
George Habash, all with close ties to bin Laden, Iraq and Iran.
