Re: Even Israels critics almost get it

It's just appalling. The number of civilians deaths in the Israel/
Palestine conflict is intolerable. And I feel the United States is
partially to blame. The United States furnishes Israel with the
latest and most advanced military hardware, firepower accurate to
within a meter or so, while the Palestinians are left to attack with
home made rockets that sometimes don't even reach their targets.
Nevertheless, the Israelis manage to kill about ten Palestinians
civilians to every Israeli, whether military or civilian, killed by
the Palestinians.

The answer, of course, is for the United States, in the interest of
saving Israeli civilians (few Americans feel Palestinian women and
children are worth saving), is to supply the Palestinians with more up-
to-date weapons--perhaps a squadron of F-16s with their high-tech
precision ordinance that could ensure that only Israeli military
personnel are the victims.

If the Palestinians are provided with better weapons, one has to
assume that the Palestinians could manage fewer civilian deaths than
the Israelis have over the years. Some people (those terrible
"antisemites") keep pointing out that Israelis kill very few armed
fighters compared to the thousands of civilians deaths. Recently, in
Lebanon, it looked like the Israelis didn't even try to find fighters;
the Jews just bombed schools, hospitals, apartment buildings, and
every bridge and road in Lebanon.

While the Lebanese and the Palestinians can't even aim their rockets
very well, the Jews are able to aim their weapons with deadly
accuracy--and they invariably aim at civilians. Experience tells us
that the Palestinians are more civilized than the ever-at-war Israelis
and would not deliberately target civilians if they could avoid it.
If the United States wants to minimize Jewish civilian casualties, the
solution is to distribute accurate weapons to the Palestinians. Write
your congressmen.
