$10,000 challenge

The USS Liberty Veterans Association offers a $10,000 reward to anyone
who can establish the truth of A. Jay Cristol's claim:

"After ten official US investigations (including five congressional
investigations), there was never any evidence that the attack was made
with knowledge that the target was a US ship."

The LVA has disputed the truth of this statement for years. We know it
is untrue. The claim that there have been any official Congressional
investigations into the culpability for the Israeli attack on USS
Liberty is patently false. There have been NO official Congressional
investigations on this subject. We believe that the best way to prove
that the above statement is untrue is to offer a reward to anyone
(including Mr. Cristol) who can prove that it is true.

So that there is no confusion or misunderstanding, by "establish the
truth of" means to prove each of the claims contained with Cristol's
statement, that is that there have been:

1. Ten

2. official

3. US investigations

4. (including five congressional investigations),

5. there was never any evidence that the attack was made with knowledge
that the target was a US ship."

The verb "prove", as used in this challenge simply means "to test the
truth, validity, or genuineness of each and all of the five elements of
the statement." The standard of proof required shall be the same
standard that used in the civil courts of the United States. As with
civil cases, a successful contestant shall be required to prove by a
preponderance of evidence that each of the five elements is factually
accurate. Should there be any dispute as to the interpretation of
admissible evidence, the parties shall use the standards set forth in
the Federal Rules of Evidence.

If a contestant wishes to litigate any dispute arising from this
challenge, such litigation must be brought in the Superior Court for
the County of Los Angeles, California. By participating in this
challenge, you agree to all of these terms as a condition of
participation.
