Gary Milhollin: discredited "weapons experts" back to work on Iran

Funny how the so-called experts who lied about WMDS in Iraq are back at
work on Iran!

Gary Milhollin, whose NY Times editorial today (Aug 23 2005) is
entitled "Don't underestimate the Mullahs" is a professional
scaremonger. This is the same Gary Milhollin guy who repeatedly made
fun of IAEA Director Hans Blix and said that the IAEA was "irrelevant"
for "failing" to find the WMDs in Iraq that Milhollin insisted existed
there (see: http://www.iraqwatch.org/wmd/hansirrelevant.htm)

Now he's trying to scare-monger on Iran and is trying to downplay the
significance of the US Govt' OWN REPORT that Iran isn't anywhere near a
nuclear weapon.

For example, in his editorial he claims "last year Iran razed a
building at one suspected nuclear site and scraped away the underlying
soil to prevent analysis"

This was claim about "scraping away underlying soil" was often made
about a site at Lavizan in Iran -- and here's what the IAEA inspectors
told Reuters after visiting the site:

"[A]nother diplomat close to the IAEA told Reuters that on-site
inspections of Lavizan produced no proof that any soil had been removed
at all." (SOURCE: No Sign of Nuke Work at Suspect Iran Site-Diplomats;
