Doctors not prosecuted for cutting our chest open for no reason!

It has been proven that over 800 of us patients of the Redding Medical
Center, Redding, CA, (owned by Tenet Healthcare, Inc.) have been given
unnecessary open heart surgeries, but the Attorney General has decided not
to press criminal charges against the doctors involved (Dr. Chae Moon, Dr.
Fidel Realyvasquez Jr., among others) because they didn't have enough proof
to prosecute them! Assistant U.S. Attorney Michael Hirst said, "The
evidence shows these doctors ran a high turnover, high volume surgery mill.
While the evidence did not establish beyond a reasonable doubt that the
doctors intended to perform unnecessary heart surgeries, the evidence was
convincing that the doctors showed a reckless disregard for whether those
surgeries were necessary or in their patients' best interests" (San
Francisco Chronicle, 11/16). Medi-Cal and Medicare seem to have had enough
proof to be paid back the money that they paid for the unnecessary
procedures and our
attorneys all had to have proof from each one of us (from our cardiologists
and their expert witnesses), that our surgeries were indeed unnecessary
before they would take our cases. 167 of us died from the surgeries, and
the rest of us are still disabled after 4 or more years.
Since the media seems to have all but covered it up, I have decided to
spread the word so that others might consider getting a second opinion
before agreeing to any procedures on their hearts, even if they try to scare
you by saying that you need to have the surgery immediately or you will die,
like what Dr. Moon told all of us. During times when someone can sue and
get millions for bad breast implants or scolding hot coffee, we were lucky
to receive around $400k (total), and that was to keep our mouths shut as
well!
Well, I'm not keeping my mouth shut!
