Attn. Mediare Fart D shoppers, boycott these companies!

Boycott Humana Inc. and United Healthcare. Humana is partnered with Wal-Mart and UH is partnered with Walgreen's. Both of these retail giants engage in monopolistic practices designed to drive out all competition, espically local retailers. Wal-Mart is the largest retail corporation in the country; Walgreen's is the largest pharmacy. By buying their sponsored medical insurance, you are just putting more $$$ in their pockets and hurting your local economy, just as surely as if you were buying their low-priced not-made-in-America crap.

Both Wal-Mart and Walgreen's are anti-choice and anti women's health. Wal-Mart's national policy is not to sell emergency contraceptive medication like Previn or RU-486. Walgreen's is less draconian in some ways, more so in others. It does not have a national policy--each individual store manager can decide whether or not the local store will sell them, or let each individual pharmacist decide. But they also have the choice not to sell ANY type of birth control if they wish.

There are many other non-medical reasons to boycott Wal-Mart, Walgreen's and their health plans, but since we are only concerned with health care issues in this post, we will stick with the arguments listed above. They should be sufficient anyway.
