But this is only true if all you do is go vote on election day. If you
go out beforehand and get all your friends to vote with you for the
same person, then your chances go up dramatically.
For example, yesterday was the primary election here in Michigan. In
our district, the second place person only lost by about 500 votes. If
you get everybody in your neighborhood to vote for that second person,
then they would have won. The candidate I liked came in 5th. If I had
gotten just 2000 people out to vote for her, she would have won.
Anyway, that is why people campaign.
