For starters if anyone wants to answer this question themselves please
talk it over with your spouses before you do, I do not want to cause
any unnesseary arguing but rather to prove a point. Ok, people put a
lot of value in the flag and are against flag buring. I want to say my
stance on it before i ask the question I want to ask. In my opinion its
the constitution not the flag which has kept the country going for two
hundred plus years. If you burn the constitution your burning what says
our rights are, and a document that has held our country together. Has
the flag held our country together? Ok I know some people might
disagree here but I do not think its to the same level as the
constitution which in my opinion is something that should be illegal to
burn. I mean if there is a document you have a right to read its that.
Also, one time I got in to this discussion with my brother in law who
told me his argument against the flag burning ammendment. He said
nobody can burn YOUR FLAG, I mean nobody can burn YOUR PROPERTY. He has
a point.
Now I am going to ask the question I was wanting to ask. Remember if
your married think long and hard before you answer it I do not want to
make anyone upset with there spouse. If George W Bush had two tables in
front of him, one with the American Flag on it and the other with his
wedding ring or band on it. He has to choose which one should be spared
and which one had to be destroyed with a blow torch or some other
instrument which one would he choose? Also, if you want to throw in
your own personal answer as to how you would handle this sceariou
yourself feel free to do so.
